Who is usually the main person taking care of a child/children the mother or the father?

conventional home rolls are stupid to cling to in a modern society. The important part is the child has two role models that love each other, it's important for their development. It doesn't matter if you're a straight, gay, or lesbian couple if you adopt or have kids you NEED both parents because that's where your kids learn their love language and its a very important part of their mental development as the mature. A bad relationship with your partner is bad for the child too.

Also, as long as the kids receive the love, and attention needed it matter fuck all which parent is staying at home with the kids. there's no shame in being a stay-at-home dad, there's no shame in being a stay-at-home mom and there's no shame in taking turns which is probably the best approach so your child can forge a strong bond with both of you.

Also this is from the perspective of someone who's home broke halfway through my life. It was for the best neither my mom or my dad were happy.

It depends on the family situation. I had a colleague who did more of the childrearing of their babies since he worked from home, so aside from the 40 hours a week he had to work he could take care of the kids, and was able to as soon as his daily shift ended.

Mothers are usually the primary caretakers of their kids. Even when fathers mainly take care of their kids they aren't doing any of the invisible labor so the work of having a kid still ends up on the mom.

Earlier I used to think that only mothers do more, but with time I understood that both father and mother give equal care but in their own way.

I think it's a matter of social circles, like some do traditionally expect their daughters to be the ones taking care of their children. But in more liberal social circles the father is willing to stay at home depending on if she wanted kids at all.

I've had women tell me of their plans to become mothers, but I wouldn't pressure any woman into anything.
