Ladies, how would I ask a close female friend to sit on my lap? And if so, how do I convey that my reason asking her holds NO sexual intent?

Revisiting this question at the age of 30 from when I was 19, I wanted to ask if it is possible to ask a lady who is close to me to sit on my lap that I hold no sexual intentions with.

And if so, how would you ask/hint it at her? I've heard of it being done before. What boundaries and settings would you have? And what would the reasons for doing so be?

You simply don't ask a woman for something like that.

You may deny it as much as you want, asking a woman to sit on your lap does have a sexual intent, regardless how you personally perceive it.

I don't see how it cannot be perceived as such since you are asking her to be sitting directly over your penis and that you WILL get an erection. Guaranteed.

How is a woman not going to see it as something sexual? What are your intentions by asking her to sit on your lap? Whatever your reasons, this is not coming across as something innocent.

Adults do sometimes cuddle or sit close for comfort or affection without sexual intent, but if you value your friendship and want to maintain it, it's important to be respectful of her boundaries.

My intent would never be to push boundaries. If I did push her boundaries and she turned away from me, I would be mad at myself for another 10 years. It took a long time for me to reach a lady who is a true friend to me. I'm wondering if it would be better to hint at it vs explicitly ask too. Furthermore, my setting for that to happen would be at a park or house party at max.

You could pat your lap and open your arms, but other than that - I wouldn't ask.

Another way might to ask for a hug while sitting down. But what would be the difference to a lady with you patting your lap vs verbalizing it?

Personally, I'd say patting is more playful and shows a level of comfort without pressure. More friendly.

I think if someone would verbally ask, I'd feel more uncomfortable as the question in itself would seem too serious.

But that's my perspective.
