Should I tell my husband about this or I should just keep my mouth shut?

I (31F) recently found out a crazy truth about my husband's (32M) family. We've been married for 3 years, and he is the only child of his parents. My husband is working abroad and he asked me to prepare a present for his mom's birthday so I can surprise her. I did what he told me and I went there. I knocked on the door but no one answered. I tried few times but unsuccesfully. I even called my MIL but she didn't answer the phone. I would have said there's nobody home, but I could clearly hear a loud music coming from inside, + I saw my mother-in-law's friend's car outside. I was thinking of using the backyard door and luckily it was unlocked, so I entered the house.

There was no one in the kitchen, no one in the living room, but the loud music was still playing, coming directly from the bedroom. I slowly came closer to my in-law's bedroom and I could hear some voices and laughing too, despite the music.

The door was slightly open and I had a clear view from inside the bedroom thanks to the mirror in the hallway. It would have been better if I never saw that. My father-in-law (57M) was cheering up and laughing while my mother-in-law (55F) and her friend (52F) were having a brawl on the bed. As much as I could notice, my mother-in-law was on the losing side, as her friend was on top of her all the time. She was slapping my MIL's face while sitting on her stomach. I was shocked, confused and frozen. But what shocked me more was when my FIL came closer and started kissing my mother-in-law's friend. MIL was just laying there helpless, trying to say something, but her friend smothered MIL's mouth with her hand. I immediatelly ran out of the house, while no one knew I was there.

I couldn't sleep all night. I lied to my husband that I was tired so I didn't go there. The next day, I just came by to give my MIL's her present and immediatelly left. Should I tell my husband about this? Am I wrong for not getting involved?

It sounds like what you walked in on was consensual? This was not a case of your MIL being mistreated (more than she consented to being mistreated as part of sex play)?

Well that's what I was unsure about too. I'd still be inclined to think it was part of something sexual. But I wasn't there. If you think it was violence... in a non-sexual (non-consensual) context... then that's totally different. I guess it depends on what you think you saw?

You're making me rethink this now. So I mean... some people can get pretty damn real with their sex play. But the fact that they were clothed... does make me take pause.

If you think that your MIL was legitimately being abused... then I think that's something you do need to tell your husband about.

I think that what you need to do; is going to be different depending on what you decide you saw.

You need to first come to some determination about what you think you saw. What is your gut instinct? Did you walk in on sex play (the loud music... for example makes me think that's what it was). Or did you walk in on some sort of horrible abuse your MIL would have been putting up with for years at the hands of hert husband and friend?

Only you were there to see what you saw. You're going to have to decide what you believe you saw. Then act accordingly. If your husband's mother is in an abusive situation, you need to tell your husband about what you saw. If it was consensual, then he does not need to know.

Probably a kink fetish thing they're doing as long as they're all consenting it's a rather funny story but I suspect your husband knows nothing about this. That you went in there and found out by entering without invitation MAY end up being something to cause strife.

No need to spread it unless you fear the mil is being abused.

If I were the one who found out, I would seek to have a word with the MiL and find out the reality as it may be her kink and or some kind of thing they do and her apparent discomfort is actually some masochistic fetish for her. Be subtle though as this could be something long term abusive.

Definitely tell your husband. It would be hilarious to have him confront mom n dad. about their kink. They'd probably just tell both of you their sex life is none of your business. Or maybe they can give you guys some tips, introduce you to some people, to spice up your own sex life.
