This is a discrimination and social problem associated with the medical condition not a medical problem. Yeah its bad, doctors are unaware of the social problems that come with medical conditions.

I read the comments before making this statement so I could confirm that sir — you aren’t a doctor. You want to tell her the “bad news” about social issues he may or may not face, is that because you face them? It just sounds like such a projection and then to act like your real life experience trumps that of an actual doctors medical diagnosis is astounding. Not everyone is going to face the exact same social issues just because they share a diagnosis.

You can’t cast every doctor under the same umbrella because certain aspects of healthcare aren’t linear. There are plenty of doctors who believe advocacy, who take social histories of their patients to identify if social determinants are affecting them. You don’t know what is discussed between that woman and her sons doctor, you just assume your experience will be everyone else’s. It will not. Don’t act as though you know better than a doctor.

Are you diagnosing people based on things you just perceive or did you take this child into your office and you’re a doctor and concluded that from exams? What exactly does the child have? And why wouldn’t the mother know it?
