I caught the ball as a kid and gave it to her, she messaged me on Facebook after all these years and we talked, she asked me if I wanted it back. I really don't think I have much use for it.

It's her trying to come up with an excuse to visit you I think. If you say yes she has a reason to show up so she can bring it to you. She probably wants to reconnect and be friends again either that or she's gay and had a thing for you ages ago and is trying her luck it's 90% one or the other in my opinion.

Well you could try telling her you don't need the ball but would like to reconnect or you could say yes then later insist she keep it after she visits or if it goes well just come clean and admit you just wanted to see her.

well then she probably just wants to re connect for real then and I don't see any harm in it. If the husband didn't know that's one thing but since he's specifically interested definitely go visit you might make some new friends and rekindle an old one.
