Is it right to apologize everytime even if you were harassed in front of other people?

I had a female friend in office, we were really close. She is in a relationship so everything I did was respecting her and her choices.
I even did things which made me uncomfortable to make her comfortable in office.
I am a developer, and she is a manual tester in the same team.
I don't even like her, but she regularly verbally harassed me in front others which I didn't care about cause I was taking as sportingly.
One day at a party started harassing me physically, in front of juniors which broke me, felt like I lost everything I have earned through hardwork, getting all the recognitions, developing an application from scratch. I never created even a single prod issue till date.
It's been 3-4 months I don't speak to her, I don't go to lunch with that group now. And everyone took her side, in place of me (understandable)
But everyone keep asking me to forgive and forget?
Why should I apologise for something damaged my image in front of people?
Now I have resigned from the job, and people asking me to solve things with her.
I mean why should I take this step?
I am Moving to another country actually, for further education and get a better opportunities. It's completely unrelated but people have associated this with that!
She still gets to enjoy with all other colleagues, still she is called to all the parties, she is called for all the outings hikes and movies where as people have forgotten me!!.
I never minded this but why they want me to say sorry?

if you did wrong, you should apologize. however you can still set the boundaries for how people should treat you at the same time. if they don't accept these boundaries, stop associating with these people.

i didn't read the entire story. i just read the headline and when youi say "is it right to apologize?", it's implied that you did something you may have to apologize for. why else would you mention that?

i just read the entire text and it seems you conventiently left that part put. you just mentioned whether you should apologize or not. apologize for what? you seem to be hiding the part of the story that may make you look bad.

You could at least give us examples of all this verbal and physical harassment because without the context we can’t say whether you were right or wrong, whether you should say sorry or not with her or vice versa.

Also the fact everyone siding with her makes me curious what has been said and done.

For Example, I never dance, I don't know how to, I don't like it at all. There was an 'item'(basically asong which sexuals women's body) song going on and I didn't participate cause it's something I don't like to do she pulled me on every body part name touching or pointing at my body, I am severely underweight, I have been made fun for my weight.
Just medical reason. This she did in front of everyone, everyone went off the dance floor. i put up an awkward smile and walked off.

Verbal harassment is easy to do. Due to my body structure, she mostly targets that I am a virgin, and never will be able to attract anyone.
This was warned by a notice that she can't comment on that or make it into a joke.

And I used to apologise for anything I could change but because I don't want to I used to apologise, like not wearing anything fancy, I normally use a hoddy or similar to make me look at least normal. Not skinny. Which fully covers my body.
I have worked on my body and gained
(45 kgs at 5"8 to 64-65 kgs)
But due to medical reasons my forearms are still skinny due to less bone density.
