Do you think we need to protect our daughters more than our sons?

Picture this scenario: you have two kids, both around 16 or 17, one a son and one a daughter. When you give them permission to go out with friends, catch a train to another city and come back late, are you more protective of your daughter than of your son? In other words, do boys get a bit more freedom? Are you, as a parent, more concerned when your daughter is away?
