How would you treat parents who were horrible to you growing up and why?

I treat them like I wish they would have treated me... 2 wrongs don't make a right but 2 wright's made an airplane. I'm trying to metaphorically make planes.

My mother and older sister abused me growing up. My uncle adopted me when I was 13. Best thing that ever happened to me!! I have no contact with them I don't care what happened with them.

I simply moved on. I haven't seen my parents since 2006. Furthermore, I don't even know where they live now. They could be all dead, for all I know.
