Thoughts? Should other countries adopt Thanksgiving? It would give turkey farmers a boost.

Canada has one too. I think because American Thanksgiving is the most famous version, it's viewed as an American thing. With all of the American culture being exported through Hollywood many countries are reluctant to embrace anything they see As American.
Australia is very reluctant to celebrate Halloween because it's seen as an American holiday (even if it originated in Ireland)
Not to mention there is something kinda braggy about having a holiday where you say all the things you are thankful for. "I'm grateful for my yacht" Well Americans love to brag , this isn't true everywhere
For what reason? Unless you are a US citizen it should mean very little for what we celebrate it for.
I am a US citizen and it doesn't mean shit to me I can't imagine other countries
@animesenpai Well guess that is your choice!
Don't you think there are already more than enough similar events? It's getting exhausting for the mind. I guess this is more a commercial matter than a real need.
Let all countries stick to and honour their own traditions instead of importing and cumulating celebrations foreign to their own ways of life.
Absolutely every single one of them, including your country Honor America 🇺🇸

Absolutely. Cuz then they could also adopt “black Friday”; which is all Thanksgiving is really about anyway. Pretend to express gratitude one day, then go out the next day to murder your fellow man in order to save a nickel on made in China garbage that was marked up 50% before the nickel discount. All so that you can completely forget about said garbage come the following Thanksgiving. And all this right before the holiday that is supposed to bring a season of peace, love and caring. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I don't think we should have turkey for Thanksgiving and turkey for Christmas. Too close!
Good for turkey farmers tho lol
Sure, America has had a good run with it. Other countries wil love turkey and mashed potatoes and lets face it, who doesn't like a 4 day weekend?
It is typical of America to need a day to be thankful for things.
Why would they celebrate another country's national holiday?
Then why do you celebrate Easter and Christmas?
@slimyWitch those were seasonal celebrations appropriated by religion to control people
No, there is a good reason why the USA celebrates Thanksgiving. Its origins go back 400+ years. Countries who have something to be thankful for can establish their own Thanksgiving Day.
400 years?
Many nations have been saved from famine by other people. But most are ungrateful.
Does Bernard Matthews REALLY need the extra cash? He's already minted as it is...
Simples...
Nope, it's an American Holiday. If they want to based on something for them then they can.
Sure, one more holiday = more free days, no work ;)
Why should an American holiday be pushed on the rest of the world?
I wonder what Indians think of Thanksgiving since we pushed them back all these years ago.
And we should worry about what other countries celebrate?
well I like these celebrations. Dinners are fun.
No. I prefer duck then turkey.
Only former colonies.
If they wish.
