Why do parents still love their children even when they don't love them back?

Well first off, parents love is usually unconditional meaning that no matter what they’ll always love their kid. I mean when you raise someone from birth i imagine it’s probably really hard not to love them regardless of what they do. I mean unconditional love is just that way, it’s what it is. There is no condition for their love. The kid doesn’t have to do anything and they’ll always love them. I mean I think that’s the way it should be. If you bring a child into this world it’s your responsibility to raise them and love them. Also, I don’t think many kids dont love their parents. Sure they might say mean things or do stuff but at the end of the day if their parents love them and do their best I think the kids love them back. When you’re in your teen years a lot of kids might say they hate their parents but ultimately they don’t. It’s more of a at the moment kind of feeling but somewhere deep down they still doz unless their parents really are just bad parents. And then when they grow up and become adults they realize that they were wrong and their parents really were always there for them and just doing their best to raise them right.

Unconditional love isn’t always supportive. Parental love can come with complicated family dynamics. Toxic ones.
For an example imagine parents that send their kid into shock therapy because they think their kid should be Islamic or something because they “love” them.
Parental love isn’t always genuine love which drives their own kids away from them. It’s like they think their “love” can actually change who their kids are and that’s not how getting respect works.

I would say because they come from us. We watched them grow and learned to love the good and the bad parts of them. I’m just speaking for myself hypothetically though.

Unconditional love.

Mind you, NOT ALL parents love their kids... some folks don't have the parental "gene" and don't feel attached to their kids at all.

For that reason right there it someday will be a hard lesson for the kids to learn. Kids think. They know it all. And I guarantee you , you ask a child why they don't love their parents , and the answer they come up with will be the most stupidest answer but it's ok

Saying 'I love you' to your child gives the sayer a feeling that they have built something good and their pathetic lives have meaning when in fact they are going to die hollow and alone, still unwilling to countenance the devastation they have wrought at every turn.

Then there are the good parents.

Because parental love is unconditional. And usually the kids only hate their parents when they’re teens.

Yea! Parental love should always be unconditional and I still don’t think a lot of teens really hate their parents they just have a lot of angst

Love is very tightly connected with egoism. Children should ensure continuation of their parents genes.

They r their kids. Peopl can like animals for example when the animal doesn't like them bak like a mean dog that wants 2 attack u.

Mothers literally get flooded with hormones that cause unconditional love during pregnancy and childbirth and in the case of fathers I imagine raising a child from infancy creates a strong bond
