For my daughter's name, we checked our genealogy. She actually has two : the first is my wife's name, the second is one of the names of my mother and also my mother's grandmother.
My own? I have three 'first names': my father's name and the names of my two grandfathers. It is very common in my country to have three or even four given names at birth.
That’s very nice 😊
Spain has a nice culture.. I want to visit it one day
The process involved two steps:
1. I scanned the universe looking for the hippest, coolest names ever... and a half.
2. My wife decided they would make a better middle name.
🤷♀️
That’s funny.. but yeah cool names don’t fit as first names sometimes 😄
Sure. Take her side... 😁
You better 😄

My name: I was born a Twin. Our names were supposed to be Cassey & Cody. When we were born our parents said these boys are not Casey and Cody. So we were named baby A and Baby B. My parents had weeks to refile our names so when they named Me Jason, and my brother Marc our middle names. Started with A for me and B for him. I was named after a large kid Jason that my father knew, a small boy that had it with bullies one day and threw one through a department store window. I grew up very much like him. My brother Marc was named after another small boy my mother knew that died in Vietnam as a tunnel rat. A thinker a reader and a doer. My brother grew up very much like him. My daughters were named Isabella, Helen Katherine (Hellkat) and Lorelei. Isabella Nicole because we couldn't agree on a name until watching the movie Fools rush in the night before she was born. Hellkat because she was the 4th Second daughter named Helen in her mother's line. Katherine was the original Helens middle name. Hellkat was the obvious nickname and she's lived up to it. She's more like me, her father. A real Hellkat. Lorelei was named after the Lorelei's from the Gilmore girls TV show. She has no middle name because I wanted to give her my mother's middle name, Lynn but that was also the middle name of my best friend and mistress so my wife said no. The next middle name I wanted was Doris, my grand mother's name but then Marc's wife said we could call he Rory Dori and my wife hated it. So she's just Lorelei
I have no kids but I will make better choice than my mother did. I have no clue what has driven my mother to choose for me name of Slavic goddess of winter, death and nightmares. It's not exactly the same name but it's a derivate. She never told why she choose that name for me but she told me 1000 times how she choose name for my brother.
Fortunately I spend my childhood in Germany where children don't drown straw effigy of this goddess, so usual humiliation because of my name wasn't a topic. Of course Germans can't speak it out like it belongs and make their own version of it. Having at least 4 verbal versions of my name was a small price I could easily accept.
I has hit my cousin who was born in Poland but moved to Germany as me much worse. Her name was Halszka but Germans couldn't handle it at all and renamed her to Katrin officially in her papers.
Well.. I like unusual names.. they are unique and will be remembered 😊
German administrations don't simply rename foreigners because their names are complicated, the people themselves have to apply for it. :-) I knew someone with the Slavic name Saša, he applied to be renamed Sascha in his German documents.
My family has always picked first names that the mother and father liked. The middle names follow a rule, sort of.
The first born son's middle name is their grandfather's first name. Second-born son gets their father's first name as their middle name. This has applied to me, my two sons, and my son's son (my grandson). We've never had a third son so we have no rule for that.
Girls have a different rule. Their first name is one their parents like, and their middle name is Marie, regardless of their birth order.
That’s cool 😊
I like “Marie”
I don't plan on having any of my own kids but I have often wondered about my own name. My older sisters all have more traditional names and when my parents got to me I think they were just tired of it all and decided my name , last minute over drinks one nite. "Hey, what are we gonna' name her?" , "I don't care. Pass me the brandy."
My name is Brandi. 😳
It’s a cool name 😄
At the end of the Terminator movie the lady had a child and his name was Kyle and he was born to save the world so I named him Kyle and I always like to name Jordan so I named my daughter Jordan
Very beautiful names 😊
You too 😊
You too have a good heart 😊
That's so cute !
Undecided about kids. If I ever have them , I'd prefer them to have cultural names.
Wow.. that’s cool 😊
I chose my niece’s name. I wanted it for my child but my cousin had a child first, so we gave it to her.
That’s so sweet 🥰
My youngest is named Alexandria which means “defender of mankind”. I have high hopes for her.

Only 1 daughter is name after my one best gag friend. 🥰
What is the name 😊
We didn't have names previously set, we thought about it during pregnancy. We aimed for a name that would be timeless but not antiquated, and international.
Son is named after me and we just picked a pretty sounding name for my daughter
Nice 😊
We discussed it and decided on them and had backups in case something with the child changed.
