What should I do if a 20-year-old coworker is dating a 14-year-old?

I work at mcdonald's. This 20 year old man started working with us today. he's very odd. I was talking to my co workers and they know him. They say he's dating a 14 year old girl. Im not 100% certain its true, but my co worker said she told our GM and he still hired him.

YOU should keep your nose out of it and mind your own business unless you have proof he's having sex with her. As long as there is no sexual interaction, it's not illegal to date a minor. It's not a great look, I agree, especially if the gap is too wide.

It may not be socially acceptable in your world, but let's talk about legality. In 4 states in the USA, the age of consent is 16 for males or females. So let's say a 16 yr old boy in Georgia (legal age of consent) is dating a 14 year old girl in Georgia. That could be a high school junior or senior dating a freshman.

However, a 20 year old would be a college sophomore or junior, and that's not so good of a look. Girls DO mature more quickly than boys though, and a mature 14 yr old girl with an immature 20 yr old boy may be closer in emotional and mental compatibility than their years indicate. But that would be an exception, and not the rule.

Slap the 20 year old in the face unless they plan to wait 2 to 4 years for the 14 year old to become legal.
I used to work with a guy that was dating a 14 year old when he was 16 and, when he turned 18, he told her that he'd wait for her, and he did. They're at least great grandparents, now.

I'd be careful with these kind of things... You don't know if it's true and it's not really any of your business. It's one thing to see something with your own eyes.. But this is hearsay chitchat. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. There's a big difference between someone looking like 14 to actually being 14, but if the info gets passed around 3x it can quickly transform from one into another. Best to just ignore it until you have actually first hand info of him doing something bad.

Depending on what the age of consent laws are where you live you could report him. Though it's unlikely anything will come of it unfortunately

You should do nothing. That's a problem for her parents. It's legal for them to date, almost certainly illegal for them to have sexual contact. It is in all the United States and I expect in Europe as well.

If you have no evidence to bring to authorities, nothing. They won’t listen without proof.
