Is it rude if guests don’t reply to an event email and only use the signup link?

my invite was very clear to let me know if they’re coming and if they bring anyone, and most of the people I invited signed up, but didn’t reply to my email. Weird. I would definitely reply. If nothing else to make sure they know.

What’s the point in giving them a sign up link if they need to directly let you know as well? This is what an RSVP is for, to let you know whether or not they can make it. You give them a deadline date and if they don’t sign up by then you’ll just assume they can’t go.

The signup link is so they don't have to reply. The entire purpose of this is to avoid the need for a response.

I never reply to the email on an evite. If you want email replies, just send the email, don't send the evite. We're all busy and get way too many of these to worry about.
