How can I potty train my 5-year-old non-verbal autistic son?

My son is 5 years old and still pretty much completely non-verbal. He will show me what he wants in other ways such as leading me somewhere to show me or bringing me his empty cup to re-fill.
Trying to potty train him though has proven to be extremely difficult. Any parents with autistic kids have any advice? Would be much appreciated.

I have a son who has learning disabilities but here's what I did.
I bought him his own little potty chair (so his feet could touch the floor) and just left him sit on it for a while and he would eventually relax enough and go potty. Sometimes it took a while but he finally caught on as for the reason he was there.🙂

Get him his own potty, let him run around in his bare butt for the whole weekend and show him what you mean, let him him in the bathroom when you go so he copies.
You might need to clean up for a weekend but they learn fast. The diapers are too comfortable and they won't learn that way. They will when they get wet.
