How to train a man to put the toilet seat down?

Question

Simply, how to get a guy to put the toilet seat down when they are done? I remind, ask, and make them when i catch it, but no matter what i can't get them into the habit!!!

it's probably too late for him. I was conditioned to do so as a kid as i grew up w/ my mom and sister.

I will say, to all the guys who say "oh we leave it up so we dont pee on the seat", do you inconsiderate dumbfucks ever consider WIPING OFF the seat if you pee on it?

I am completely dumbfounded how pissing on a seat and leaving it is somehow acceptable. Men seriously are pieces of shit sometimes.

I hate it when girls complain about leaving the toilet seat up but they leave the lid up. I've been trying to get my younger sister to put down both the seat and the lid but she keeps "forgetting" to put down the lid.

Here's an incentive. With the lid up, germs from the toilet spurt up and can get all over your tooth brushes. So, always put the lid down before flushing. Been doing this since I was about 10

I think it depends on some things, if it's the girls place, he needs to learn to put it down, if it's the guys place, then leave it up. If you live together then you're on your own.

I have to keep it closed whenever it's not in use cause I have cats and I don't want them drinking out of the toilet bowl.

I always would put the toilet set back up after flushing.  It was easier for me to remember to do that , than I was for my husband to remember to lift it.  No point in setting on a seat he pissed on. Growing up with mostly brothers it just became a habit, put the set back up because my brothers where lazy.

It bothers me that so many men want to leave the toilet seat and lid up. When the bowl is uncovered like that, the water releases large amounts of bacteria onto the rest of the bathroom, can create porcelain shock on people who stumble into the bathroom half-asleep (which makes it harder for them to fall back asleep), and it often just looks nasty. Men should lower the seat and lid. I do.

You don't "train" a person to do anything. If you're of this mindset that you have to "train" your husband to do things, then I have to be the dick to say that you have an old fashioned outlook on marriage and how you should treat people. He's not a dog that you have to train through repetition and reward. You both speak the same language.

As for the toilet seat dilemma, why can't you put it down? You're a woman but you're not royalty. If you're meaning to put BOTH seats down, then that's understandable. Just put it down when you're done and tell him that he should be doing the same, for sanitary reasons. If he forgets, simply remind him.

But if you're meaning just the one seat, then you're going to have to get over that. He puts it up when he uses it, you put it down. I hardly think your arm will fall off if you have to put a 1/2 pound toilet seat down.

You can't. I shared a washroom with my 4 brothers when I was living at home, and it was seriously a point of contention between us all until I just let it go. The worst thing you can do is nag about it as well, that doesn't accomplish anything. When you go to the washroom, put the seat down yourself.

It's easier jut to train a guy to sit to pee, that way you don't haft to worry about him forgetting to put the seat down. If you don't want to train him to put the seat down, you could always install a device, to where he has to insert a quarter to put the seat up, and in order to get the quarter back he has to put the seat down.
