Like 🤮 people leave the lid up and flush..
everyone of course realised all the stuff that comes out of the toilet when you flush?
mainly when you have had a poo, but also any other time as well.
https://www.familyhandyman.com/article/always-close-the-toilet-lid-when-you-flush-heres-why/
Some people replying rely need to rethink their hygiene.
Just read through some of these answers.
Bloody hell, some people here do not understand basic hygiene.
Hopefully none are parents.
I’m shocked…
@Subarugirl me as well, it’s like basic stuff was never taught to some people on here.
The fact that stuff is sprayed around when anyone flushes with seat up.
It all ends up on tooth brush, hair brush etc.
I mean if a men care more about their ego than brushing their teeth with a toothbrush covered in fecal particles… i guess they can…. But seriously that is disgusting
@Subarugirl I was taught this as a very young kid.
It’s VERY BASIC hygiene
Family of four say, bathroom hand towels a few days of being covered in stuff, then used to dry face….
Oh my god that’s so gross
But that’s pretty much what people on here are doing every day
No wonder pandemics are such a big issue.. people can’t even practice basic hygiene
WTF, this is common decency from both sexes. dont worry about the toilet seat, we should all put the lid down too, that way we both get the toilet in the same condition and germs are kept at bay
Exactly

Here's the argument the way I understand it: You're in bed together and she gets up after a few hours of sleep, to go pee. She walks into the bathroom half asleep and backs up to the toilet and drops her ass down onto it to pee. IF the seat is up, she'll fall into the toilet and get a wet ass. So, the seat should be left down for the spoiled princess to keep from falling in because she just ASSUMES that the seat is ALWAYS gonna be down and she's just too lazy or sleepy to bother to check, first.
WELL, when you're in your car and you need to back out of a parking space, do you just put it in gear and step on the gas or do you actually take the time to look, first, to see if you CAN back out safely?
Now, on the other side of the coin: He gets up after a few hours of sleep to go pee and, also expecting the seat to be up, he whips it out and starts to pee and, as he's still half asleep, he doesn't notice the seat is down and ends up pissing on it or at least splashing it a bit! He goes back to bed and she gets up to pee, the seat's down, but now, it's got piss splashed all over it. She sits down and get a STICKY wet ass!!
Wouldn't it be better for her in the long run to just CHECK the seat first instead of expecting it to always be down? Seems to me, it's mostly on her to check that the seat is down when she's gonna use it and up when she's done! HE doesn't have to worry about sitting in it, SHE does!
In essence, you should BOTH should be responsible enough to check to see if it's up or down before you let go.
I was with my ex-fiance for 10 years and never ONCE did this issue come up!
Oh my gosh this happened to me when I was pregnant, worst thing never
It almost happened to me once, too. I had to take a mean dump and was in such a rush, I forgot to check for the seat and nearly fell in!
I was 9 months pregnant and literally fell in.. that sucked
I'll bet!! Did the baby get an idea of what was a bath was gonna be like?
What is the right position, well in my house it is DOWN... but at others it may not be.
This is kind of like which way the toilet paper roll should hang, no right or wrong but I at least want the guys to life it up... their aim ain't that good and nothing more gross than having it all over the seat they didn't bother to lift up cause it was too much work to lift up and put back down.
I've had debates on this where I'm told I should lift it up when done each time and that is where it should stay... okay fine but only at his place, not mine.
As a gentleman, a man is supposed to lift up the toilet seat while he urinates. No woman should be sitting down on a dirty toilet seat especially when she really really has to go and there's no toilet paper. One time one of my ex-girlfriends had to use the bathroom really bad and there was no toilet paper to put down, I did the most responsible thing. I gave my girlfriend my shirt she puts himself on it wiped it down and I got myself a new shirt. She wanted to wash it but I just decided to throw it away then eventually some homeless person just took my shirt out the garbage and kept it for himself.
I know that a lot of women are probably going to say all this guy is an asshole for making this comment but this is my strong opinion. And it's not even a big deal but no I don't feel that we have to put the seat down just because you guys have to sit on it I feel that a woman should have to lift it up unless the guy sat down on it to use it for that number two but otherwise if he's just peeing and he's standing up as long as he makes sure that the seats clean or he didn't over spray onto the seat I don't see a problem and leave in the seat up. I think when you get married and you buy a house make sure there's more than one bathroom and that that certain bathroom she knows that if the seats up oh fucking well that's my bathroom pretty much and if you had to use it then you got to put the fucking seat down I don't see it as disrespect because you left the seat up it is what it is who cares
Should girls lift the seat after they pee?
I have a rule in my house, put the lid down after use but before flushing, that way everyone is happy, especially me so I don't have to scrub up your bacteria from around my bathroom!
Yass! You get it
I started putting the toilet seat cover down when I was 8 or 9. Since I had kept hearing women complain about guys leaving it up. So I figured that I would be ahead of the game by doing this. Fast-forward to college and I hear a report from a plumbers convention where the reporter asks what is the weirdest thing about toilets. The guy responded that a toilet will launch bacteria out of the bowl up to two meters into the air when flushed. This made me feel vindicated in my actions. As bacteria can't go through a solid object like a toilet seat cover; and the worst that could happen with it down while flushing is the bacteria escaping out the sides at knee level. A lot better than toilet bacteria raining down from above your head.
I don't really get, two meters?
How does it gets thrown into the air like that?
Girls should look where they put their ass before they sit.
I'm not about to get mad that a girl left the lid down over the seat when I walk in to take a piss. I'm just gonna lift the lid up. Just maybe a girl has it in her to flick the seat and let gravity do the rest if she's gotta go.
actually it's good hygiene to put the toilet lid down when you flush... as opposed to leaving it up.
I've never understood this. I mean I can just put it down myself. It takes no effort. I personally believe in closer the top lid because not because of this reason.
wait until your pregnant and have to pee in the middle of the night... either way its super unhygienic to flush the toilet without closing the lid.
Lol this reminds me of when I was at my buddies house hanging out. I personally live with guys, so I was used to the toilet seat being up. But I was at my friends house and his wife lost her fucking mind on me when I left the toilet seat up.
She literally yelled at me for it. Women are so fucking sensitive
Men sit on them too that being said , I personally prefer to see the toilet seat up and put it down myself. I also do not use public bathrooms unless absolutely necessary. People are filthy and lazy for the most part. I learned this as a gas station attendant men are filthy in the bathroom but women are so much worse unless it’s their bathroom.
Proper upbringing would tell you that it shouldn't be put up to begin with. Male urinals are made for standing. Toilets are made to sit on :)
The 10 things mothers forgot to teach their son's about proper etiquette
In the house we don't have standing urinals cause it's not a restaurant, the proper thing to do is that you lift up the toilet seat when you finish so that your man take it down after he finishes...
If you want an etiquette than it must be from both sides...
Yes, and the lid too! Toilets are smelly and disgusting (unless you bleach it after every use). Lucky for me, we all agree on that in my house and the lid stays closed unless in use. By default, the seat is also left in the down position for the next user.
I think the lid should be closed completely after each use to be honest
Right answer
I think it's respectful to put the lid back down.
But if they don't then it's fine.
If the guy is your boyfriend then just break up.
If it's your son then just teach him to do so.
And if it's your brother then just kick his ass every time he does it, he'll learn his lesson.
And if it's you, i'll make you lift the seat up with your mouth 😏
Is that the best you can do? You made me laugh hard, why don't you come here and try me and believe me you will regret, i saw many tomboys like you and they kissed my a*s later so i'm not going to waste my time with your idiotic challenges which makes no sense other than being a low life keyboard hero, know your limits little punk and move on 🤣🤣
I don’t mind putting the seat down but I also think the LID should be down because it’s more hygienic to have it closed while flushing. But my landlord (whos’s a woman) insisted to have the lid up because she didn’t want to lift it up when she went about her business. 😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒😒 Dumb German woman
Nope miss subaru girl, who said that a man should put the toilet seat down after peeing?
When you enter a bathroom as a female, if you see the toilet seat up than you must put it down and if a man enters a bathroom and see the toilet seat down than he must put it up...
There is no etiquette for it, if you tell me that i must take it down than i'll tell you that you must take it up!
Especially at home a married couple would never think about such shallow things...
I take it you’ve never fallen into a toilet before.. that must be nice
What do you mean? "Fallen into a toilet"!
I’m sure you’re smart enough to figure it out
@Subarugirl
I've never fallen into a toilet wtf? XD
@t-8900 me too bro, we are big size so it's impossible for us to fall unlike @Subarugirl she will dive in and maybe find a gold fish 😂😂
Well im sure that you've also never been 9 moths pregnant and needing to pee multiple times a night either @t-8900 lol
@Subarugirl it seems you were drinking a lot of water haha, anyways if you were pregnant than you body needs a lot of water and food and your man should provide the right nutritions for you and his baby 😌
Just turn the lights on miss subaru girl so you don't fall in the toilet, especially if it's cold in winter and you need to return to bed fast to stay warm 😁
Regardless of gender, both the Seat and Lid should be put down after use.
I don't just put the seat down, I put down the lid. Keeps water and urine molecules from flying all over the bathroom.
This is an all American thing. Here the toilet seat must always be raised and only lowered if you want to use it.
If there are people who complain that the toilet seat is not available to them as they want.
Well gentlemen start urinating in the sink. You will see that they will change their mind.
Just be grateful they lift it.
Don't forget when using a public toilet to always leave the seat up, it freaks out the next woman who uses it.
I mean I think we should be courteous to other people but if women aren't going to put the toilet seat up for us when they're done then why should we put it down for them? And honestly what I do is I leave it down anyways and if I get pee on the seat then I wipe it up with toilet paper. Simple. Then I don't have to touch that toilet seat, which most of you women know your 6-year-old already pissed all over it.
Lol my 4 your old lifts and closes the seat after he is done
Guys should not only put the seat down but the lid as well. And girls should put the lid down too. That way you don't get splashes escaping onto the floor when you flush.
Well the lid should be closed when you flush. Thats just basic home training. That being said, if i have to pee, im capible of lowering the seat myself.
If there's a lid, then seat down and lid closed. No lid, don't care. I can put it down just as easy as he can lift it up. Just don't pee on it, your aim isn't always as good as you think it is.
Honestly, them putting down the seat when done is no different then us putting the seat up when we're done.
Buuuuuttttttt... everyone should put the lid down when done. Period.
Smart answer 🙂
No, they should leave it down and piss all over it. Then maybe women would stop bitching about the toilet seat.
Lol
Some men have never fallen in the toilet and it shows
Oh I have, sitting on wet cold ass porcelain is not fun.
I don’t mean sitting on a urine splattered toilet bowl, I mean falling into that bowl.
That is what I just said
Well I think they should but I want to know why a guy cannot hit the whole in the toilet seat there's two guys did I know I will not let them use my bathrooms. Because they're pigs
Nope. Men already have a long list of things that we do because women are too lazy/special to do them. We're not adding this too.
Putting the lid down before you flush is about hygiene not special treatment 😂
Lid... dud I said lid... as in the whole toilet bowel is covered...
also last time I checked men sit while taking a shit lol
Lol you can't even get guys to put the seat down after they pee... you really think that they are gonna close it to flush, wait until its done and them open it back up, then wash their hands? lol Yeah right.
@Subarugirl pretty sure that I understand men better than you do so...
It depends on if my wife is home. If I think she'll be the next one to use it, I put it down as a courtesy. If I think I'll be using it again before she does, I leave it up.
Both should put down the toilet seat & cover every time.
I do this despite not sharing a washroom with a female.
I think they should because I pee like every 30 min. But if it was in a public setting I don't care because I don't touch the seat anyways I use my shoe to touch stuff like that and knock it down.
Yes the seat should always be down. This is something I never have issues with since I only share a bathroom with my husband and he just pees with the seat down and cleans up any mess
If i had a wife who tells me that i must keep it down than i'll keep it up all the time because i'm a man who never takes orders from a woman!
If he's doing it by himself than no problem, your a wife and a husband don't let such shallow things take from your time...
As long as girls lift it after they piss hell really just don’t even lift it to piss if they’re that worried about falling in a little piss on the seat ain't gonna kill nobody
Just playing I lift and lower it out of habit but really I don’t understand why women don’t just raise the seat when they’re done so it will even things out and maybe catch a dude slipping slipping right into the shitter
I often sit down when I pee, just to avoid the conflict with my SO if I forget to put the seat down. When I stand, I always try to put the seat down, sometimes I forget... and then I hear about it.
Not necessarily, as the next person coming in might not be a woman.
No different than saying a woman should lift the seat for man before he goes every time.
This is just a controlling abusive woman expecting a guy to be at her knees every moment of the day.
Demanding special treatment is not equality.
No but putting the lid down before flushing is hygienic
And does she put the seat up when she's done for common courtesy? This isn't like opening the door for a woman. Its more like letting your woman sleep with her ex while you sit in the corner with a video camera. No thanks.
Actually it’s recommended that you put the cover down before flushing the toilet because of sanitary reasons
Keep the germs in the pot. Nothing to do with anything other than spray.
The toilet seat and the toilet lid should always be put down after being used. For like hygiene purposes you know.
What does this have to do with hygiene, moving the seat up or down 🤔
Do some research on it, you’ll see. It’s just overall more sanitary having them down, also it’s not a hard task to take one second out of your time to put it back down regarding your comment about not taking orders from women.
But hey you do what you want with your toilet because I really couldn’t care less what others do with it basically.
You can also take a second from your time to raide the seat up!
I also couldn't care less about what your going to do with your toilet seat and couldn't care less about your opinion because feminists like you are ready to do what it takes just to appear that your dominant and that the world should work the way you see it which is totally against men! DREAM ON 😂
Well i couldn't care less after reading your comment on my answer and about the hygiene, it's the same as long as you don't make a mess and clean after yourself!
A feminist because you want men to do stupid shallow things for you because you think that your something while your nothing, for example "take the seat down while you won't take the seat up"
Who carea about the toilet seat, if it's up than just pull it down and if it's down than just pull it up, as simple as that!
Can't find a proper answer because your wrong and now started the insults, a typical feminist, don't worry i'll annnoy you and every other feminists like you! 😄
Don't worry about me, haven't you said that you couldn't care less? Please just do what you have mentioned earlier and stop caring about my replies...
Carry on with your life 😌
They should put the toilet seat down so they can pee sitting down like a civilized person. Who the fuck wants to clean all the splashed pee everywhere too. Idiots
Yes, and put both lids down to keep those germ particles for free floating around the room! Oh, and wash your hands people!
I can understand about the bacteria thing when flushing with the lid up.
But I would rather see the seat up in a public restroom. Because then I know the last person didn’t piss all over the seat.
At home the seat is always down.
How the bacteria comes into picture?
Water is not overflowing, right?
@Tstrbrainer because of the action of the water during the flush. Somehow it is supposed to throw off bacteria. I guess the cleaner the toilet bowl. The less that should be expelled.
That's really new info to me as I've never spotted water being sprayed outside, except for few droplets occasionally escaping
@Tstrbrainer how much bacteria could be in those few droplets? Just like a sneeze! Can’t usually see it. But they are there
Damn. Now I'm scared
@Tstrbrainer Good reason to keep the potty clean!
Nope. She can put it down if she needs to.
Guys should pee in the rear tank so when it is flushed more pee comes out. :P
I hate ultimatums like that. Look before you squat. Adjust accordingly.
What ultimatum?
The up or down rule. We're adults and it takes less then a second to adjust the seat. If you can't cope with a simple issue like that than you're too young for a relationship. I don't want the extra drama if I forget to "obey" whatever arbitrary rule is in effect at the moment.
Ultimatums and etiquette are not at all the same thing lol
Sixteen years in this house, three bathrooms and I always make sure I put the seat back down after using the toilet
One of my ex's wrote on the bottom of the seat "It's so nice to have a man around the house" to remind me to put it down. LOL She had a female roommate too, so it was a courtesy to them both.
Why should guys have to lift it up?
Sorry... but this is one of the pettiest things that women have to complain about.
Just move it and pee and move along and don't be petty.
I do this but I also live alone so me putting the seat back down is for myself alone but no I don't think guys should have to do anything for females anymore, it's almost 2022 you all can put the seats down for yourself and open your own doors.
I think we (guys) should sit to pee... That's much cleaner...
If a man is peeing standing up, he should lift the toilet seat. It should download after it's done. but if he is sitting and peeing, there is no need for it. how do women pee What do you do after peeing? Have you tried peeing standing up?
Ok than what about this Should women put the seat up after THEY are done in the bathroom?
They should pee sitting down, like all normal people do :)
I have a personal plan of making my toilet like like barney Stinson's toilet
There is nothing worse, then almost falling in the toilet.
What does falling in the toilet means?
@TonyMetal___86 it means when you get up in the middle of the night to pee half asleep, go to sit on the toilet and then fall in because there is no seat.
It's 2am, you wake up cause you had a big glass of water before bed and you're gonna burst. You run to the toilet only to sit, fall, and have wet cheeks
@Sirenboobzilla haha funny 🤣 but i think that the bathroom have lights DUH! 🤪
@Subarugirl well if that's the case i'll do it on purpose miss subaru girl, if i had a wife like you, i'll follow her in the middle of the night to the bathroom and see her falling in the toilet so i laugh hard and wake the neighboors up 🤣🤣
@TonyMetal___86 You'd follow your 9month pregnant, half a sleep wife, to the toilet in the middle of the night just to laugh at her when she goes to sit on the toilet and falls into the bowel?
No way miss subaru girl, if she's pregnant than i'll never do such things, i'll take good care of her and make sure that she's always healty and warm and in such case i'll go with her to the bathroom so i help her if she needs any help and to always make sure that she's okay cause her body and her well being is my responsibility but i'm saying if she wasn't pregnant and the fall won't make her hurt, just a funny accident 😄
There is no rule to do this. However my wife trained me as soon as we got married. Even when she is not home during the day I still do it.
Yes, because that way the cats won't fall into the toilet and drown.
In my house the seats stay UP.
When visiting my significant other, I lower the seat.
With that logic women should put it up then after they pee also.
If I did that my dad yelled. I would CLOSE the toilet if you will, lid and all.
Should girls lift it as a courtesy to men?
It works both ways
