How long should a child politely wait before interrupting adults?

Obviously interrupting can be rude but how much long does a kid have to wait for the conversation to end and give them your attention.

During my childhood and early tren years, my parents were always into "don't interrup when adults are speaking" but many times they would on and on and by the time it was over (after like 30 minutes or so), I wouldn't be interest anymore, felt ignored and I would simply forget the topic.

Should a child or anyone wait too much to finally get acknowledged? What if the conversation is taking too long?

My parents would tell me just a minute then let me talk. I can see how felt like you were being ignored. They made you feel like you didn't matter.

When I was little I felt like I was ignored too. My older sister would interrupt all the time and they would listen to her. When I did that they told me I was rude and for being rude they wouldn't listen 😒 I felt like being a boy I was less than my sister she got all the attention. My sister told me once that no one listens to boys. That made me feel worse.

Just a minute or two, and the parents should recognize the kid is waiting politely and let them ask
