Am I wrong for not wanting strangers to touch my newborn baby?

So I dont actually have a newborn yet... im 31 weeks pregnant with my first child.

I dont mind family and friends showing my baby affection and see that as perfectly normal but it got me thinking earlier when I a tiktok of a young mother with a newborn was complaining about going shopping and having an elderly lady touching her newborn and telling her how to dress her baby as the baby wasn't wearing socks but it was also 26ºc so she didn't want to overheat the baby.

All the comments were calling her a snowflake and there was a lot of older women saying this is the problem with her generation etc.

Personally Im totally on the young girls side why do strangers especially boomers think they have the right to touch someone's child they don't even know and can't just mind there own.

How do we know there intentions are meant well and even so they could spread germs to a newborn and its just creepy too. I remember reading a news story recently about a mother who asked a lady to please not kiss her newborn baby and she did it anyway and gave the baby a coldsore and sadly the baby got sick and died.

Why do some people feel so entitled to stranger's children and not respect there wishes as if new mothers have no idea and dont deserve respect.

I recently had to explain to my husbands uncle who is downs but when the baby arrives there is no kissing the baby as thats how new baby's can get poorly.

It took him awhile to come round to understanding but my in laws backed me up and he understood eventually so if he can why can't these people?
