How can I make new friends if I’m really shy and not outgoing?

I've never been very outgoing so I don't make friends easy so I'm asking how can I make friends even though I'm shy and I'm not outgoing? 🙏

Growing up I was always very shy I mean so very shy I would hardly even speak but I always smiled but what I noticed is the more confident I got and the more I didn't care of somebody judged me that's what kind of broke open everything and I changed and then I became too bold and I won't shut up because I want people to feel what I feel I want them to experience that

Find a group doing something you enjoy, whatever that is. Then you will have something to talk about, which will relieve a lot of your social anxiety. You can gradually get to know people and then you will have friends. It worked for me.

Join a class and find people with similar interests

Change jobs frequently

Walk alone at night (not recommended)

Try joining a club so you will meet people that are interested in something you are so you will have something to talk about. Also consider getting a parttime job where you don't work alone.

It’s about following your interests more than following people. Do what you love. The people will present themselves. Then you’ll have something non-threatening to talk about.
