If you grew up in a nudist family, how did friends and neighbors react?

I can’t even imagine such families. I’m glad I grew up in a well-educated, intelligent, and well-mannered family. I value structure, respect, and social norms, and I feel that this kind of upbringing helps a person navigate life and society more comfortably.

I am fairly well educated with a PhD. I would like to think my partner and I are reasonnably intelligent. Living the way we do with the people we know means our manners are the "social norms".

Just because we have been brought up as naturist doesn't mean we can't fit into those "social norms"!

@Jessica405 Thanks for explaining your perspective. I understand your point that upbringing doesn’t necessarily prevent someone from adapting to wider social norms. Still, I think most people outside that lifestyle may see it differently because of cultural expectations and boundaries. Personally, I am against such families. But I never judge anyone.

I should also add that our naturist lives are limited to beaches, where people keep themselves to themselves, and to two clubs that are in quite remote locations. We are not naked at home unless for showering elc

Okay, I understand your point now. Even at home you can do that, nobody can judge you. Your home is the safest place where you can be how you want, with your partner only, not among children.
I see. I didn’t know it before. Thanks for the clarification. I thought naturists were like that all the time in public streets, as someone here on GAG mentioned before.

The only place I have been that is fully nude is a naturist resort called Cap d'Agde in south of France. The whole place is nude. Cafes, restaurants, cinemas, bars etc. Always sunny, too!

Also nothing wrong in kids being nude. I made my debut at a club at 2 months old. My parents and maternal grandparents are naturist, too, as is my brother and his partner.

@Jessica405 I understand this is a lifestyle that has been part of your family and your upbringing. People have very different cultural views on nudity and boundaries, especially when it comes to children, so perspectives can vary a lot.

@Jessica405 I agree! I am also educated (Masters) and grew up as a nudist and didn't think I was any different than any of my other friends. As a matter of fact, the people that had the problems were people that weren't nudists. That includes all the pervs and creepy people!

Quite simply they don't know. The only relatives that know are naturist themselves. Likewise, the only friends that know are ones we have met at tthe two clubs we belong to.

I did and the neighbors were ok with it. We had a privacy fence and a pool in the backyard but I sure they saw us many times as we stayed in the backyard.
