Do people actually notice or care when someone breaks down in public?

I had a breakdown due to personal issues and I really couldn't handle the pain and mental burden. I had to take the train back home, and at the station I started crying uncontrollably, unable to stop or control it. I was surprised that no one even came up to ask, "Are you okay?" People really don't care how you are; no one is going to pay attention to what you do or how you feel. It can be a good reminder to "do what you want, live your life. No one cares what you do, how you look, or your insecurities."
