Yes, I can usually tell! I say usually, because if someone was THAT good, then I would never know that it was fake, so I guess any answer would be skewed towards the “usually”.
As it pertains to Amber Heard and her testimony of 5/4/22… she was absolutely faking that crying! I happened to watch ALL of Amber Heard’s testimony yesterday, and I paid very close attention to whether or not there were any tears when she appears to cry on the stand, and even though at times she appeared to be absolutely sobbing, there was not ONE SINGLE TEAR, the entire time she was on the stand… not one! I also noted that she went on and on about unspeakable abuse, yet one of the first things she said when she got on the stand was that THIS (meaning being sued by her ex husband (as she put it)) was the WORST thing that ever happened to her! Not being allegedly choked, not being allegedly beaten, not being allegedly thrown on a bed, her panties ripped off, and being sexually assaulted. No! This, sitting in a comfy air conditioned courtroom and watching the trial! She is such a liar, she is an abuser, with a history of being arrested for domestic violence battery, and I hope for Johnny Depp’s sake, and the sake of men falsely accused everywhere, that she is publicly revealed to be the perjuring liar that she is!
Of course.
I have a masters degree in crying.
Have cried for the last 2 years almost daily due to the stress of not being able to be close to my boyfriend.
If someone fakes it I can tell easily.
Yes, for a very simple reason - when people cry for real, they get ugly, they snot, they get red, lose their aura of dignity.
That's how I can tell for example when my mother is crying for real or putting on a show to get pity/money/goods - when she's got tears, but somehow her makeup is fine and she's white and relaxed as a lily, she's faking.
When her face is red and looks like crumpled paper, it's real.
Without sounding like I have ASPD generally, I am immune to crying. Don't get me wrong I hate to see someone cry, I just don't allow waterworks to affect me or my decisions. Because of this most people that know me also know waterworks won't work. I might also add it's not possible to tell about a stranger. However, with somebody I know really well I think I can separate fake from real.

I caught a bit of her crying on TV this morning, but it's rather undermined by the "Amber Heard: Actress" label. It's literally part of their skillset to be able to cry on cue.
Yes sometimes I can. I'm used to deal with fake people, so I got used to it.
Yes, someone, I know who fakes cries and sometimes I believe they do it for attention.
Some are easy to detect others not so much.
It depends on how good they act
I guess sometimes.
Definitely
