If I had or wanted a child yes although it is not something I want right now. I think I had a really good childhood overall and in general I was very lucky.
But with a small difference, I would try to help them be more emotionally expressive and ensuring a safe ground for the child to open up to me about their emotional needs. I wouldn't want them to associate having or showing emotions as weakness.
I also wouldn't want them to carry along unnecessary guilt for things that they are unable to change.

No I made sure both my sons didn't grow up like me. I made sure our family history ended with me and my sons never saw any of it until they were adults and I was burying their grandparents and aunts. That's when my kids and my niece and nephews got the real story.

And I took risks for a long time that I would never want my kids to take. In part because I don't want them harmed. But in part because I no longer believe in what I was doing. I've seen too much. From the inside and from top to bottom. I know how things work whether I want that knowledge or not.

Noo... I would want my kid/s to grow up much better than I am.. I would make sure they do well in school, maybe get involved with some extra curricular activities, have friends they can grow up with and just be a presence in their lives that my father never could think to be..

I don't see why not. I am by no means perfect. I do think that I am generally a nice and respectful person. I work hard and motivated. I never mind helping other people. I am a good student. I don't see why any of those things would be a bad thing in my children.

I do hope that I have some one day. I also hope that I can steer them away from the flaws I do have and mistakes that I have made like any good parent would.

As someone who grow up in an inner city low income household with several siblings, I'd appreciate learning about finances and understanding how men think as far as dating is considered. At times, I feel like I mothered myself. I won't know if my daughter would be able to the same without her parents help.

In some ways yes, in other ways no. I'd like her to be empathetic, creative, and value-driven, but I'd like to not have some negative traits. Like my tendency to panic or get overly emotional, or not me really bad at making my own decisions

My 3 kids are grown. They have some of my qualities, and some of their mother's, but they are individuals, and that's the way it should be.

I would be happy if they grew up like me. Ironically my daughter is more like me than my sons are.
