Do you think my counsellor was problematic?

She used to always try to convince me others are above me.

for example she was like you know that colleague who wouldn’t give you the time of the day?

first of all I never told her I felt this colleague looked down on me in any way she had inferred that as he had a graduate degree.

but the most disturbing part is that even if he did and she believed he looked down on me the way she used to phrase things was almost like she was trying to humble me and say if someone has more than you do they can treat you badly and that’s fine.

I noticed several similar behaviours. What do you think?

That comment alone wouldn't make me say she was problematic. She might have been trying to remind you of the situation and see how you felt about that colleague.

But if she regularly spoke about people in a judgmental way, encouraged you to dislike certain people, or made you feel like she was taking sides, then I'd be a little uncomfortable with that. A counsellor should help you understand your feelings, not tell you who the bad people are.

No, she always tries to act as though others are above me, and I never once said I thought this colleague looked down on me. It’s the condescending way she said it.

I genuinely think from what I’ve seen her she believes that if someone is above someone else it’s okay for them to treat others badly I always got these condescending vibes from her insecure almost…

But then it would confuse me because she’s a counsellor

She also blamed me for things lol what a nightmare she was but I’d be confused because she’s a counsellor
