Is it wrong if I occasionally text my best friend's boy friend?

so I got my best friends boyfriend's number because she had to use my phone so his number was in it, so I just saved it in there because well, why not? also one time she was like " oh, you guys have each others' number right?" and we said yes and she didn't really say anything after.

I've only ever texted him a total of 3 times:

1. he texted me to find out where my best friend & I were. she wasn't answering her phone and he was worried

2. I texted him because I was asking him what I should get my best friend (his gf) for Christmas

3. I texted him asking him a question about shoes he sold me at the store he works at

I've never ever just texted him being like "hey, what's up" all three of us have hung out together. he's very nice to me and always hugs me goodbye and pretty much just acts like a normal friend to me and I get the feeling he genuinely cares about me ( as a friend of course). I'm very sensitive about the whole "crossing the line" issue because of something that happened in the past with another friend.

is what I'm doing wrong? I know its probably not but I feel like it is. and I know my best friend wouldn't even be mad if I told her I texted him to ask him a question, lol. she wants us to be friends. but like I said I feel weird because of what happened in the past.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the times you talked to him. Any time you have doubts about whether what you're doing is wrong or not just ask yourself, would you be OK doing this in front of your friend and would you be OK with your friend sending your boyfriend a text like the one you sent. If the answers to those questions are yes, then you have nothing to worry about.

This sounds like a perfectly fine friendship. You are doing nothing wrong, so there is absolutely nothing to be worried about.

As long as you guys are JUST FRIENDS I don't see anything wrong with it.
