Why does this girl keep bugging me?

I met her a few months ago and we got along and exchanged numbers. She is a friendly girl to EVERYBODY but has a hard time texting me back (she says she forgets to text everybody) but I just took it as lack of interest. Days go by and she keeps being all friendly, constantly complimenting me and making a "big deal" (jokingly) when I'm leaving for the day, telling me how special I am and that I SHOULD feel special. Recently she broke the physical barrier, first poking me and now when I make a joke she will slap my arm or something like that.

I don't think I'm her kind of guy. She goes out and parties everyday while I'm more "keep to myself" kind of guy. Like I said, she is friendly to everybody, but every time we cross paths she says hello all enthusiastic, or makes a joke or tries to get my attention but when I text her, sometimes she doesn't even answer, so her overly friendliness is kinda confusing, what is her deal?

She is probably just very over friendly and/either thinks and knows she is goodlooking and just wants to be noticed. She could also be very friendly with you just to be a mind screw so she gets your attention, which is what she wants.

Sounds like she's just a friendly person.

I know, friendly people shock the hell out of me as well... never know what to make of them.

In any case, if you were hoping she likes you, sorry but I doubt it.

  Its not that, its just that I feel bad because I cannot match her enthusiasm when I see her. There's a girl I like and she is more like me and we don't really make that big of a deal, but my heart races when I see her, even though she is not this over the top. I'm OK with being friends, I just don't want her to think I'm a jerk because I don't act the same way, I try, but I just can't fake it and I'm put on the spot when she overdoes it...

  Ever stop to consider the fact that despite you not being as chirpy as she is, she continues to talk with you? Maybe you don't need to pretend to be anyone other then yourself... just saying.
