Using face and body highlighter can be so much fun, in fact, so fun that many people really go overboard not thinking much about it and then when they step into the light outside of their home they're shocked how much they've slathered on!

It's definitely difficult finding a highlighter for pale skin, but don't be discouraged: a liquid highlighter is always a better option (lighter shades than any other formula), and also, depending on how pale you really are, mixing a bit of shimmering white eye shadow to it is always an option...

Using a highlighter color that doesn't suite your skin tone is definitely a no-no. Unless you're going for an unnatural look, in which case good on ya! The color you'd want to use if you want it to look natural is the one that sinks into your skin color so well you don't see it unless you're struck by light.

A well placed highlighter doesn't have to highlight all the points of your face, but the ones you like to accentuate the most.

Be aware that if you pile on foundation and bronzer your highlighter will sin on top of all that and won't look natural at all.

During the Summer you will sweat. Keep your highlighter on point with a bit of powder over it. You can always use the strobing technique:
