Every society around the globe has it's standards of beauty. As a result, in every society you have the people who naturally and without alteration of any kind, including temporary ones such as make-up, fit into those standards and you have a range of people who try their best to fit some or all of the standard if it's achievable, and you have those that don't care for whatever reason, or will never be able to achieve the desired look.
After reading and hearing a lot of this body positive, self love, no plastics, no make-up, show off your pimples, all natural all the time philosophies of some people that want to impress on everyone that no one should care about those things and just be 100% untapped by any sort of effort to look beautiful by societal standards, I wonder, why shouldn't you want to be attractive?
Say what you want, but if you didn't win the genetic lottery, and you do work out 6x a week to maintain your shape or gain muscles, or wear make-up, or dye your hair, or have a little surgery, the benefits to your life can be worth the cost. I mean just listen to the way people absolutely fawn over the genetic lotto winners about how they get everything, they get anyone they want, they get paid more throughout their lives, people are less likely to point them out as criminals, kids treat them nicer, people give them things, they never have to actually "try, " etc, etc. It's like saying, I don't want to be rich to deny the benefits of looking beautiful or attractive by the standards of your society.
So people do what they can to have whatever advantage they can in this world and I don't blame them. We don't give the same people any hard time if they say want to go back for a better education, or take a better job that pays more, or move to a safer more affluent neighborhood, because pushing forward and putting in those efforts, most of the time yields a positive result for ones life. If putting on make-up and taking protein powders and pumping iron gets you what you want and moves the dial in your favor, how can that be a negative thing? That's what alphas do. They constantly work to be the best and in this case, look the best, because it yields them the advantage in this world over those that perhaps don't care or don't want to try. And these standards aren't going to go away. They may change or evolve into new standards over time, but even if no one ever did a thing to themselves, there would STILL be a standard of beauty for every society.
