High-waisted jeans, leggings, and shorts are stupid.

I know a lot of people disagree and think they look good, but... they don't, and here's why. Let's look at this girl, for example:

^ She's incredibly hot/pretty, right? AND she's wearing those great jeans right? But that's the point-- she is hot/pretty because she's hot/pretty, not because she's wearing high-waisted jeans. Now, a girl's waist and tummy, if she has a nice one, is one of the biggest factors in what makes her hot! So all high-waisted jeans and shorts and leggings do is HIDE HER DAMN WAIST AND WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT THAT.

Look at those taut, pretty tummies! It's a shame to cover them up for no reason all in the name of bad fashion. And if a girl doesn't want to show her tummy, she doesn't have to-- just wear a t-shirt or blouse or whatever in that case. "But, but what about CROP TOPS?! !?!/1?!?!" is what I've heard a lot of girls say, and uh, yeah-- what about them. Crop tops are whatever, so... go ahead and wear them. The rationale is, crop top + high-waisted jeans = no tummy being shown. I get it. My thing is, if you're that insecure about showing any part of your tummy or waist, then perhaps you should reevaluate things beyond just your wardrobe-- guy OR girl. Nutrition and fitness, people.

Again, look at the first girl up there and how hot she is and how nice you know her tummy and waist are, and then ask yourself how her wearing high-waisted stuff is a good thing. ...it's not.

Not necessarily, I mean in certain cases yeah of course but the only way that regular-waisted jeans show skin is if the girl wears a crop top. So... okay, don't wear a crop top then. Wear a shirt. I don't understand the appeal of like "omg I only ever want to wear crop tops, and therefore I have to wear high-waisted jeans." It's absurd.

So then we just come back to why are they stupid? There's plenty of clothing items that in themselves aren't necessary, but they're still popular or worn a lot, so I would say just because it's unnecessary doesn't mean it's stupid. So why do you think high waisted jeans are?

Because they look dumb. I mean I can't make it any simpler. Certain fashion items just look ridiculous. Is there a whole lot of fashion out there that's way way worse than high-waisted jeans and leggings and stuff? Yeah sure, but so what?

I think some clothes look stupid and I don't own any high risers and doubt I will, just because I don't like shopping for stuff like that, and if you don't like how they look that's cool everyone gets an opinion. Very - and I mean - VERY few people can pull off low cut jeans. It's tight in all the wrong places and yes, the girls you showed can work it - but it looks good on very few people. I, myself, am pretty slim, with long legs and have very little body fat so going to the gym wouldn't change much for me. My hips however, which I am born with, are squared like a man's - which gives me almost no waist - everything has to be high waisted on me, or else it looks absolutely ridiculous. It's my bone structure that makes me look that way. But I agree, if you have the hips and body for it - wear them as you please. But don't go saying they can look good on anyone as long as you go to the gym.

It's actually called 'high hip flare', what I have. So even the word states that everything pretty much everything has to be high waisted, because the hip bones are highly placed.

I love high waisted jeans. When I wear them they never fall off, and I don't have to worry half of my butt will hang out when I sit down. They are comfortable.
As for showing my 'taut tummy', I wear crop tops with high waisted jeans because I like how it looks, not because I want to hide anything.

I pretty much only wear high-waisted everything because I do have some fat on my lower tummy and hips/legs, but my waist and higher tummy are skinny, so even when I'm wearing something mid-rise, it will ride up to my waist, because it's my smallest part and give me a wedgy eventually. That doesn't mean I'm fat and need to loose weight, it's just how my body is build. It has always been curvier, but I have a right BMI for my body and workout quite a lot.

I agree with you low rise jeans are definitely more sexier and I love sexy stomach myself. But high-waisted jeans look good too. I think girls who lack fitness and don't have flat stomach themselves are offended by it. I don't see why they can't incorporate both even though I definitely prefer low-rise jeans. If they have the body they can look good in either but definitely low are sexier.

My opinion is that a fabric might actually accentuate the curves and redistribute fat between muscles whilst still holding the muscles in contraction.

But I agree that these girls are already endowed with great figures, In all pictures.
At times they opt to wear it to highlight by contrast and light play, their hourglass figures.

It also takes comfort and body image security to let one reveal herself.
That itself is the contentious issue.
