EVERYBODY deserves to feel beautiful. Period. Fat, curvy, fit, thin, skinny, muscular, chubby, tall, short, black, white, purple, blue and green. Nobody should be made to feel like less of a person or not beautiful because of the way they look. And idc what anyone has to say about it. It's not your preference? Fine. You don't need to bash something or someone to prove that. Agree to disagree and keep it moving. #stopbodyshaming
Amen, Sister!!!^^^^
Damn straight!
Preach it!
@GraySailorsBride @gray_sailor thank you guys!
It's a very noble way of looking at things and certainly would be very nice... but I wish ignorance was bliss, sometimes it's better that way
However, we are humans, an advanced species that have evolved for thousands of years and probably billions if you want to talk about real evolution
We have complicated tastes and preference... we also seem to have visual desires, such most humans would rather look at the color blue then red, it's just softer on the eye for a human, not just an individual person
Point of the all this, unfourtnatly, certain things look better than others and even if marketing wasn't pushing us that way, a human would still prefer symmetry, lean, and the smooth curves... just like the color blue
We don't have to like it BUT it doesn't make it less true
Nobody deserves to be made to feel like less of a person, but not everybody deserves to feel beautiful any more than everybody deserves to feel intelligent, artistic, athletic, etc. Just because you WANT to be something doesn't mean you ARE that thing. People are different, and not everyone can be everything.
And unlike something like intelligence, being overweight is a choice for all but a small handful of people with medical issues. If you want to feel good about yourself, do the work to improve yourself instead of trying to change the values of the rest of the world.
Being unhealthy by choice is NOT something that should become accepted.
I'm not debating if it's true or not, I'm simply saying that just because you don't like something doesn't mean you have to be rude about it. @TripleAce
@TripleAce
You and a lot of guys on this thread are really having a hell of a time discerning what the issue is here.
Nobody is trying to persuade you of anything. This isn't about you. This is about large sexy women getting to feel sexy and men like myself agreeing with them.
We (men) who approve don't need to be a majority. The large women don't constitute a majority either.
By way of comparison, suppose we establish (hypothetically speaking) that 70% of men prefer women with blonde hair. Should we then shame and discount brunettes and redheads? Should we ignore other men's preferences? That obesity is a health issue is immaterial. Body size is still a preference.
@CHARismatic110
Yes agreed, thats true of course no one should be mean about it... but again just like credit scores, education, house, cars, money, bank account, attire, personality, how one carries themselves, first impressions!!
Are all judged on and in a world with over 5 billion people, we need social cues to make quick judgments in a fast pace overpopulated world... imagine getting to know every overweight person before you judge them... most will just think their lazy and don't care enough to make a quick thought process
People have bad credit and it's not their fault, but no one cares all they care about is you have bad credit... not everyone is successful but respect is measured by how much success you have
So based on all that, how can being rude on average... ever... really stop :/
But yes it should stop lol I agree :)
I guess what I'm trying to say is, instead of wanting others to Stop being rude, let's either change how we view it OR change the reason the rudeness is being projected to us
Or just accept its human nature... like eating and survival of the fittest
why would you get down voted by 5 people wtf?
This shouldn't get any downvotes... This was beautifully written. Every woman deserves to feel beautiful and no-one should get bashed for body-type. Well said.
@dutchpride92 thank you!
Ashley Graham, yay!
demandware.edgesuite.net/.../...lle_729494_1_1.jpg
She's gorgeous! Love her.
As long as they're happy, I'm happy. I do wish they'd find a passion for health and fitness though, because truly loving your body is treating it the way it deserves to be treated by feeding it healthy foods and giving it the exercise it needs.
I'm happy they're confident, but honestly it's only a small percentage of people who actually look good fat lol. Their bodies distribute their weight really well and there is almost no fat in their faces, which still isn't very realistic. At my heaviest, I was 195 and my body looked super lumpy and disproportionate and my face was really chubby and less appealing. The majority of overweight women are like that, where being fat just really does not suit them. Bodies like these are STILL unattainable and unrealistic. I seriously don't know any fat people who look like this. Where are the double chins and cellulite?
Just the fact that I know I'll get hate for having a preference is sad. I actually tend to like girls a couple pounds overweight but whatever body shape these women have is just unattractive, they must be like 15+ pounds OW. Plus they're faces aren't the greatest either, and I'm generally not a fussy guy. I don't see male modelling companies hiring average looking guys short guys, or scrawny tall dudes, and you know if there were short models girls would be like "eww". So many double standards.
I highly doubt women are repulsed by short guys as much as you guys are repulsed by "overweight" women. No woman I know would say "eww" if short male models were used for campaigns. Al Pacino isn't that tall, Tom Cruise isn't male model-tall, yet girls used to (and still) go wild over those men. I don't see guys going wild over overweight women though. Guys are by far pickier than girls.
Many of the male models are scrawny.
Sorry but "ALL women are sexy" is a load of B. S. If you're a fat cow who eats terribly and never get exercise there is nothing sexy about dying because you literally got stuck to your couch or toilet and ironically died of starvation. Or girls who die in their 30's from heart attacks. We're trying to turn this world into all flowers and daisies where anything anyone does is considered beautiful. Sorry but beautiful and sexy CANNOT exist without unattractive and ugly.
You don't have to be overweight to die from a heart attack. There are athletes with heart issues who've died from heart attacks.
Yes you can die from heart attacks for other reasons but that doesn't magically make it any less true that a large amount of people who are obese and unhealthy get heart attacks. "There Are Old People and Fat People, But Few Old Fat People." I'm just saying "everyone" being beautiful is a fallacy. Because then what does beautiful even mean? Good cannot exist without bad. It's the same with us dudes. I could eat 2 whole greasy pizzas and a big tub of ice cream and the next day I'd go on a weight scale and not gain a pound. But I still eat healthy and exercise to be healthy.
true af look at all those sour bitches downvoting:(
I've seen girls who are naturally big boned but they eat healthy and exercise and I think they look attractive. I however, do not feel bad at all for girls OR guys who eat fast food all the time and never exercise and then call people shallow for not finding them attractive.
Large bones hS nothing to do with " fat". BONE is not fat. Not flesh. Not muscle. It's bone. Big bones is a really horrible metaphor for chunky.
Haha but when a skinny girl eats whatever she wants (junkfood, chocolate) and never goes to the gym (yes, most thin girls I know don't eat healthy or exercise either) you still think she's healthy don't you?
@dutchpride92 no that's called being skinny fat the very thing I work to avoid myself.
There is nothing remotely 'unhealthy' about these women. The fact that they aren't gym freaks with 2% body fat does not make them 'unhealthy'. They are not obese, they have a healthy amount of body fat.
In fact I'd go as far as to say the women in that video are fricking gorgeous.
I agree :)
Average skinny girl is about 10% body fat. Bigger girls are 15%+. These girls are in the 20-30% and that's not healthy.
Uh huh...
I was being facecios with the 2% line but I don't know where the hell your numbers are coming from.
The World Health Organisation says 21-33% is a healthy body fat percentage for wonen aged 20-40.
Your 'bigger girl' has a body fat percentage typical of competitive female athletes, whilst your 'skinny girl' would be experiencing serious health problems.
You can't tell body fat % by looking, but the NHS recommends women keep their waist below 32 inches to avoid increased risk, and none of these girls has a waist that big.
WTF fat acceptance advocates i tell ya.. so delusional.
They are fat, period. They should take care of themselves before it's too late and their self-abuse catches up (i. e. failing organs, heart disease, etc.).
Why try to hide this simple truth?
those women are overweight, they are unhealthy like anorexic models just on the other end of the spectrum
I like the avg girls lol!
Lets make a campaign for the in between girls! Avg healthy weight girls rule lol!
I'm technically overweight as well. But guess what? My cholesterol is low. I don't have diabetes. I'm active. My eating habits are. decent. I'd say that I was pretty healthy. I also have an illness that I have to take meds for on a daily basis. And guess what? It causes weight gain! But to society, I'm just a fat girl right?
Well, you have valid reason with an illness, and have made changes to be healthier
and if you are healthy and live a healthy lifestyle thats fine
but some people who are overweight inflict it on themselves, when they had control over it
and could have prevented it
@PiuBelloAmante
Who the HELL are you to establish who has a valid justification for any circumstance in their lives?
@gray_sailor I am just a 19 year old dude stating his opinion
Now days all the information and services are there to live a healthy life, especially in developed countries
Usually being overweight is due to an unhealthy lifestyle
@CHARismatic110
That doesn't prove anything... you could have good genetics that allows you to have low cholesterol even by being overweight.
But it's not that you WILL get all this by being overwieght, no one very claimed that... what do claim is that You are MORE susceptible to getting these problems as you age IF you don't lose fat
So it's not healthy, especially belly fat is linked to diabetes more than fat overall
This is an opinion :
"I prefer people who are height-weight proportionate."
This is a judgement:
"those women are overweight, they are unhealthy..."
This is not for you to say, you are not a doctor, a nutritionist, or a personal trainer. You have no knowledge of the health history of any of these women or what their actual health challenges are.
Your whole analysis is basically summarized thusly:
Hurr.. Hurr... Fat!
Just because it's popular and largely unchallenged, does not mean it's right.
@TripleAce it proves that overweight doesn't always mean unhealthy. I don't need you to be all over all my comments either. Thanks.
@CHARismatic110
see that's rude and you just become rude over me commenting and talking to you... I ain't saying anything wrong just giving opinions which is what this website is all about
you should became a sample size in this experiment.. how humans are humans
@TripleAce dude you've said rude shit to me before on here. THAT'S why I said what I said.
@CHARismatic110
That's because Its just a website to me and I don't know you so I'm not concerned BUT I always see your name around
I apologize If I said anything rude
@gray_sailor you are right i am not an expert on these things, i dont have degrees or certifications
But i have taken several nutrition classes so far and also live a healthy lifestyle and in my own My judgements/opinions are based off my life experiences
My opinion/judgement may not be nice, or proper or whatever but i think most people will judge others this way
That doesn't validate my opinion/judgement but a lot of people view overweight people this way
@TripleAce I'm never rude to people on here unless they've been rude to me. You made a rude comment about my weight before. And here we are on the weight topic again. But ok.
@CHARismatic110
Yes I have and I do apologize for it... I like controversial threads lol, it's what makes gag fun... But anyways if you have frustration you need to get out, I understand
@TripleAce I'm good. Thanks for apologizing.
I swear only kids comment on this site, seriously I know women who have a flat ass stomach with big asses and thighs and this godforsaken media considers them fat. Some of these women have flat ass stomachs and they are curvy, once you pass the barrier of a muffin top - your fat! Because BMI is bull and they measure your body weight by the width of your stomach, seriously people need to get their facts straight!
Finally, someone who knows that the recent studies conducted by doctors AND medical researchers have suggested that the BMI scales are not accurate. Obviously, if you have a lot of muscle mass, large bones or wide shoulders, you're going to weigh more.
Try explaining that to people who are obsessed with that
To me their bodies don't look healthy. As in way to much body fat%. For me weight has nothing to do with this. It's all about body fat% and they don't look like they have a healthy amount. To me fuck skinny, curvy, fat, etc . Why can't we all just go for looking healthy? I mean look at all the athletes in the world. They're all in many different shapes and sizes. So I vote for healthy looking models.
Modeling isn't about health. It's about what looks "good."
To each their own. Where the line is separating curvy and fat will be different for everyone.
I personally think these women's bodies are sexy as shit, this falls under the category of curvy for me.
I don't give a girl the "fat" label unless her body has reached an extreme. But what would be considered "extreme" is different for me compared to the next guy, so...
I agree completely.
I think they're a little chubby. But they're still hot as hell and I would still call them cur
Lo A lot better t, who some men evena fewl curccurvy! D:
Love AshlAshley :b:)
@DaveyYourFavey Well technically they do have some extra pounds on them. But like I said, my personal point of view is that they're curvy. Some guys think they're fat, others think they're just a little chubby.
But I agree, they're some bad mama jamas
What happend to my comment? Its all messed up!
That comment was meant to say (where it was messed up) that those girls are a lot better than the VS models, who some men even call curvy! :D
@DaveyYourFavey I didn't think it was, I just figured you're English wasn't too good lol.
And I agree...
Haha :)
Yea my English is fine, its my first language, and thanks :)
I'll probably get hated on but none of these women look healthy. I am not saying you need to be a size 0 but exercise and healthy eating is something every one should strive for.
https://i.imgur.com/dhMeAzK.gif
...
They have gorgeous faces though!
I think all those women are 10 times more attractive than the Victoria secret girls. They look like women, not anorexic sluts with insane amounts of surgery and the personality of the blank expressions they carry.
Fat = personality?
Who said that? @maskedsanity I'm comparing the 2 groups. Women constantly twist words and opinions Fucking learn how to read. Perhaps I shouldn't have said sluts, that was rude. But either way my opinion is that the Victoria's secret girls are boring. I have dated 4 different models all who were as about as interesting as watching grass grow. My opinion
i said the personality of the blank expressions. I didn't say fat girls are cooler.
@maskedsanity you need to make it maskedINsanity
The bad thing about this video is that they claim to represent women of all shapes and sizes. If that were their true Intention, and not just to make themselves feel better, they should have had skinny women in the video too. Otherwise I am attracted to their confidence and self esteem so good on them for helping people!
That's some serious butthurt you're emitting. I recommend treatment to prevent further spreading.
@maskedsanity So I see neither of your comments have any relevance to anything what so ever. Just 2 stupid comments by 1 stupid girl. Comment on someone else's opinion if you can't be productive.
@MaskedSanity I seriously take beck everything I said and apologise for being rude, I also applaud the fact that you were the only person who seemed to notice. I didn't see until I came back to the page that I misread the nitre article and it is a load of bullshit. These women are still attractive to me, but they are not sending the right message and they are all the same size but represent all shapes and sizes... So why can't a victorias secret model do the same thing?
If I had of seen your post before your question to me I would have understood what you meant. Im pretty dumb for not seeing it. and again sorry for being rude.
Aww shucks, I thought we were gonna have a good ol' internet comment brawl, then you had to go and ruin it all by apologising and being polite. Damn. :D
now I feel like a bloody twat haha
As you should, lol. :D
by the way, while I have you here:. do Aussies use the word "cunt" casually in their everyday speech just like Brits do? I'm asking, because I've seen the word piss off a lot of American women, like it's something extremely offensive such as hanging babies on hooks through their eye sockets. Some women get insanely offended by the word and I've always been perplexed as to why.
@MaskedSanity I don't think a fat girl automatically has a good personality but I will say about 80% of the time (estimating here), overweight women have a much better personality than any other size of a woman. Think women seem to have the worst personalities, by a LONNNNG shot.
Yeah, the word cunt is very common in Australia, i would greet friends (boys) by saying wassup cunt, you are a mad cunt bro.
It's street slang just like almost every single swear word.
Almost like every single swear word, it depends on the context. British people do not like the word "cunt" trust me. I lived in the uk for 2 years and I think men were more offended than women lol.
The word as far as I know means the vajina of a prostitute, or one that has been raped.
But in Australia. It means asshole or you could say, "look at these cunts" when one direction is on TV.
Women in America take offence necayse most women in America are dumb cunts.
If I said "you have a cunt" that would be considered really bad here
I wouldn't call these women fat but They are a little what should I say wide? Yes some angels can be very thin. However shaming angels in order to make bigger girls feel better is just wrong. A lot of angels aren't unhealthy at all, I mean look at Doutzen and Adriana Lima, They simply work out a lot. This campaign states all women are sexy but at the Same time shames women of a smaller size. Also skinny doesn't necessarily mean unhealthy just like bigger doesn't always mean unhealthy.
What I'm trying to say is that this campaign is contradicting itself and They mention all shapes and sizes but only show bigger girls? I mean hasn't anyone ever heard of average? Not skinny nor big?
You can have your preferences. Fine. But don't body shame someone when the only person who should be ashamed is the shamer. Smh. You don't know that persons life story to make that judgement call. Having babies and being on birth control made me fat. I barely eat! So shut your pieholes guys I'm sure you don't have the proper equipment to please us anyways haha!
It looks like lane bryant wants to make some money selling clothes to plus size women. That's mainly why they created that commercial which led to this discussion. We all have our different opinions on beauty for various reasons but I wouldn't call VS angels not curvy. I believe they all have thin waists with fairly larger hips.
No not true all fat girls want to be skinny girls, stop eating so many carbs and so much sugar, go to the gym and stop saying I will start tomorrow there is no tomorrow get off your fat ass and get moving, fat girls your pretty face don't need all that extra fat on your chicks.
There needs to be more girls like you. Can there please be more girls like you?
forgot to add @jilljillybrown
It's so weird, that I'm a girl and I don't support this. I will never be as skinny as a vs model and I don't want to be, but this is just a little bit too much for me in my opinion.
That's because your still 14
@Belleza2 what about my age?
@Belleza2 thats a very ignorant thing to say
@DaveyYourFavey your also still too
Young so good luck
@Belleza2 yet I'm obviously more mature than you. I don't judge people based solely on their age. You don't know me or this opinion owner or anything we've been through. So don't think you have the right to talk down to those younger than you simply based on a number and ignorant assumptions.
@DaveyYourFavey so defensive! What makes you think your more mature than me? Based on the assumption of my supposed ignorance of your ridiculous age? Sweetie, try not to take life so seriously, just because I stated something about your or hers age doesn't necessarily mean anything except that your young and still learning in this life! As far as my oh so ignorant comment based on hers it was due to her stating it's a bit too much for me and Reread her comment again and please try to read between the lines
@Belleza2
"your ridiculous age"
There you go again.
You know that at any age you are still learning. You know 28 isn't considered a mature age either? And then you think you can go and say that I'm still learning in this life, implying that you're not.
Calling me sweetie and telling me to try to not take life so seriously are just ways to try and talk down to me.
First off you stated that I was "too young too". Too young for what?
Someone's intelligence or their type of experience can't just be judged from their age. There are some very mature and intelligent 14 year olds and younger on here. But you're not going to give them a chance.
Thats ignorance. Its not an assumption on my part but its one on yours. You're saying that I'm "too young", of "ridiculous age" and "still learning". You do not know what I've experienced, you do not know my life, you do not know what I've learned, yet you still assume otherwise. Then you insist thats not ignorance?
Read between the lines :)
Thats why I think I'm more mature than you.
Its based on evidence not assumptions :)
@DaveyYourFavey cry me a river - I'm sorry I couldn't even read all that because all I saw complaints so let's agree on something here, at any age you can go through shit, at any he you can be immature and good for you be mature now please tell me how the hell
Do you know if I haven't been through anything - oh I know, you don't! You completely ignored what I stated and once again became defensive and ridiculously ignorant with my statements and your arguing with me like a chick would! Here's something from a psychological point of view 12 through 20 is a turbulent age, you all supposedly know everything so please continue with your knowing all and I'm not 28 gag can't fix it so cry me a river and stop arguing already and see the immature thing to do is block you now read between the lines and here is a happy face 😀
Refusing to read what I'm saying? Thats a little sorry to say again :/... ignorant
If you had read it you would probably understand and not have said what you just said.
I am not saying you have not been through anything. I never said anything of the sort. (Maybe if you had read my comment you would know that)
I said that it is ignorant to assume that people of a younger age than you are immature, inexperienced and somewhat inferior. "You all supposedly know everything". Again with the ignorance and generalizations. I mean, I don't know how you can't see this.
I put proof of your ignorance into my previous comment. You refused to read it, thus failing to see it, then believing I was being ignorant because you didn't see what I was trying to say, and then all of that just piles onto my proof.
I'm 22 by the way so not 12 through 20.
Oh and spare me the childish attitude and phrases, "cry me a river"? :)
I don't like any campaign that thinks you have to raise up one group of people by insulting another.
This 10x
Completely agree!
I change my answer to this.
I don't think we should be glorifying the overweight and unhealthy body images.
We should be glorifying health. These women are overweight which means they are over the healthy weight for their height. We don't seem to have an issue pointing it out and shaming it, when it is men. Calling a large man a fatso or telling him to lose weight or get healthy. Why do we have to be so touchy about the female health ideal.
If we can't tell people that being unhealthy is gross, are we going to soon going to have to stop telling addicts that their addiction is ok? I mean we don't want to "hurt their poor egos".
I sure hope you speak up about the wrongness of underweight models too.
Yeah underweight is a problem too. When it is the "twiggy" standard, but models like Miranda Kerr are not underweight, although she and her coworkers are constantly under attack by jealous girls for "pushing negative body images". These women are in shape (like myself), they are not underweight. They should not be under fire simply because they are attractive and "make other women feel bad".
Those Victoria Secret models actually would be considered underweight, but that doesn't make them unhealthy. Same goes for these women or anyone big. Being fat does not equal unhealthy.
The BMI index has had lots of scrutiny about it's legitimacy and it's accuracy.
Being fat does make you unhealthy. The number of health related issues for a woman overweight is substantially higher than a female with the body fat content of someone like Miranda Kerr.

Oh GOD her ass is so heavily photoshopped it's ridiculous
