When did "You look so exotic" become an insult? They're calling you uniquely beautiful.
Also, "Can I touch it?" I do that with white people too, to be honest. XD
Because there are people that say it all the time despite seeing you every damn day and it gets annoying.
I don't see anything special about this hair style.
A lot of women nowadays are perming their hair to straighten it so normally when people see or know someone with an afro we're normally gawked at. It's like they've seen a unicorn.

Nappy and kinky are not bad.
They are because people start assuming you don't comb or brush you hair which leads to them thinking it's a rats nest.
Tangled and kinky/nappy are two different things though. I've reclaimed the word and I take/use it as a compliment because it's the reality of black hair and it should be accepted.
