If your dating a girl that wears a whole bunch of make up. Just knows she looks different. Make up is cover up. Everyone looks different without make up. If you don't like make up date a girl that doesn't wear make up
If the person wears a lot if make up so much you can see how much powder she has on then yes but if it's only a little then no
Holy crap on the second picture I feel the same shock value when Eugene said he wasn't a scientist O. O
haha apparently that's not a really her i just found it on a magazine website this is the real one the girls tell me
fried-junk.com/.../
celebfuse.files.wordpress.com/.../...a-vergara.jpg
^ well that explains a lot, loool.
Asker, you seem to be pretty negative about make up. But remember that most women couldn't give two shits about how 'betrayed' you may feel. Most of us don't wear make up to attract men - I'm not sure why I have to continously repeat the fact that a woman's actions is not solely to please the opposite gender - we wear it to feel confident about ourselves. And because, believe it or not, it's fun to wear! I could spend hours putting on eyeliner and lipstick for absolutely no reason. It's just fun.
If you're gonna complain about how "deceptive" make up is, might as well add clothes and personalities onto the list. People tend to dress and act better in public; a guy wearing a suit is possibly deceptive because he may not be as sharp and elegant behind the scenes. See how ridiculous this all is?
@miserybusiness then i don't care how betrayed you feel the next morning after a guy gets you drunk and shags you
What are you talking about? What does rape have to do with anything? That's disgusting. What the hell?
Your poll is flawed. Why would you put "I'm a guy"? That is who you should be asking this question to. Women use it but typically it is put on more for men looking at them.
I don't know just look at the comments i knew men wouldn't be as interested in the topic as women and of course it's flawed all polls on this website are flawed there not fucking Gallup poll furthermore your not obliged to click on I'm a guy as many have clicked on the other options despite being male.
Y'know girls don't wear make up to impress or even 'deceive' guys, and more importantly, if you're basing who you like solely on what they look like then you're kinda shallow
we are all shallow butter cup it's at least half of the reason we like each other
I see exactly where you're coming from, but honestly some girls (me being one) actually do their make up because it's hella fun or for them selves.
Fair dues if it's expertly done and you can't actually see any resemblance to the girl whatsoever, then yes it's highly deceiving.
Ps - to all the girls saying 'oh yes my eyelids are naturally this colour', we all know that's not what he means.
But what guy do not understand girls actually enjoy applying makeup and they do it for themselves rather than just for the sake to deceive guys
that's great but i just don't like it that 2/3 of women never show their real face to their significant other you can wear makeup if we are dating just show me you real face once in a while don't wake up doing two hours of it as soon as you wake up.
Maybe it's a confidence thing they are scared that they will be judged so it takes them longer to show their partner face with no makeup.. maybe they are scared that guys won't accept them with no makeup or dump them
as a very wise person once said
females don't dress for guys if they did they would walk naked the same goes for makeup when i wear makeup i basically don't give a fucking damn about what men think or how will i deceive a man i am wearing it for myself we females just love to feel pretty nothing more and that guy who is trying to get someone drunk yes that's a crime
Its for their job. If they weren't wearing makeup, the guys would be making cruel and judgmental jokes.
No one tolerates ugliness in the superficial society.
We are supposed to look a certain way. No one looks into the heart anyway. Its all about a hot asss and the ability to give the man orgasms
yes yes and women are so not shallow
Guys are "supposed" to have abs and defined jaw lines. Literally both genders give standards to the other in a general sense. (I'm not saying i think guys must have those i'm giving an opposite perspective than @abundantlyrich)
Wow. Maybe you need to take a good look at yourself and figure out why you are feeling “deceived” by someone using a product. Are you really just disappointed? If so that is on you. If it is a look that you don’t prefer, that is on you. Most people do not look or act a certain something because of YOU. You are not the center of the universe so stop taking it personally.
Firstly, the images above couldn't be more photoshopped if they tried and secondly, I don't think it's deceptive, if a man is stupid enough to think my lips are bright red or my eye lids are are blue thaat's not my problem.
I have a weird ability to stare past their makeup and see them for who they are. I know they're very insecure if they wear more makeup and moer secure if they wear less.
NOT ALL WOMEN LOOK LIKE THAT! Looking at celebrity photos vs real people is complete bull. I mean really people do not look that way. Get real.
that is why i added an update
It really depends on the person. If the makeup is used for a special occasion, church, or covering up a scar (I know someone who does this) then its okay. It really shouldn't be used as much at the gym, library, school, and certain other places. Using like a whole pound of it to the point if you are touched and is on someones hand, clothes, cheek, or other places, thats a bit too much.
I think a little bit of makeup is totally okay for a girl. All i do is eyeliner and chap stick. I think if a girl wants to put a lot on for a special occasion it is fine. If a guy likes a girl they won't care about makeup anyways. But a full face of makeup around your partner all the time is defiantly not necessary and would bother me too.
I can only speak for myself. I don't feel it is deceptive when I wear it bc i dont wear it very often only a few times a year. I like my natural beauty, when I wear make up its only to give myself a boost in confidence. It makes me feel happy n gives me that pep in my step. When one wears it all the time it weakens that good feeling
You're very lucky to be comfortable with your natural beauty. I'm not.
I don't wear much make up , I don't wear it ever day. Unless I have a class that does make up , then it well just be in the morning , sometimes it we just be nail polish
Deception? Look at this movie:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYhCn0jf46Uthis shit scares me more than horror movies hahaha
There's more:
Guys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_I17cK1ltY
Older: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AA_dXDRkP9s
mind blown when i saw the guy i was like he looks like me in high school and then they turn him into the guy that goes to the gym every day in just a flick of an eye.
Even a toddler sees at first sight that 'Metallic Cat Eye' and those lips are just war paint.
I wouldn't say it's deceptive, especially if you wear a reasonable amount and you don't look completely different if
Sorry I accidentally pressed send! *you weren't wearing any makeup at all. If a girl wears a lot of makeup she may have insecurity problems but I wouldn't say she's trying to deceive a guy (or at least not deceive in the manipulative sense)
yeah maybe those aren't her intentions but we feel betrayed when we wake up and she is not what we thought she was it's kind of like the betrayal a women feels when a really good friend tells you they always wanted more but faked being your friend if you know what i mean.
Would you still feel betrayed even if the girl was really pretty without makeup? Would the makeup thing ruin any possible relationship in the future?
Actually, wouldn't you be able to tell she's wearing makeup when you first meet her and avoid her since that's not what you want? Or in any of your experiences was it not obvious so you thought she was natural and later you realised she wasn't?
no if she was pretty without makeup I'd be glad there are girls that look better without makeup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1KKjcleX0g i wouldn't mind if she wore it as long as i knew what her face looked without it but there are so many girls that don't ever let their SO see them without it.
what i do is i suggest a sexy shower that way we both take off the sweat of the dance floor since i am very picky on hygiene and it helps as an excuse to see her face then i either make an excuse to leave or proceed with the night.
I can see what you're saying but I think it may be more to do with the insecurity, feeling confident or enhancing features more than wanting to deceive
I had an experience once where this guy had a problem with makeup. Even though he'd seen me without makeup and knew that the amount I wore wasn't much he still told me not to wear it anymore. He said 'You're beautiful without it, so no makeup ok?', even though I'm one of those girls who never lets people see her bare face. He told another girl who he liked the week before me that he didn't want her wearing makeup on a certain day and she actually did it. He would even tell his sisters to take their makeup off if they asked him how they looked for a night out. He thought makeup was hiding a girl's true self but he didn't know me and the other girl well enough to conclude that about us. Sorry that's long!
Sorry 13th line 'Even though I'm *not* one of those girls...'
Loool with the shower thing, do you leave if she's ugly and stay if she's not?
haha yeah but i don't make it obvious
Would you tell a girl to stop wearing it?
no if she wants to wear it fine but i don't suggest glamour makeup that's too much some foundation mascara and lipstick is fine but i would like to see her natural once in a while to know that she does have a face.
It is a deceptive if her goal is to change completely who she looks like. Makeup is there to enhance, not give you a damn plastic surgery.
well, Photo Shop and make up do real 'wonders'

@jacquesvol The average girl (or guy) is not an expert in using photoshop or makeup. The work done on celebrities or for the purpose of bringing attention to self-image problems is highly advanced. It may perhaps be noble to tell girls that they don't have to look like supermodels (although I hope that people don't use this as a justification for complacency), but that's an entirely different thing than an ordinary girl (or guy) using a little makeup.
It's just as deceptive as a man only being interested in women who wear make-up
what do you mean
A man who is only interested in women who wear make-up can be deceptive because he won't appreciate natural beauty. I guy I recently dated only liked the pics I posted with makeup on and we ended up together and I was done up all the time and he would complain about me not doing my hair and wearing makeup as much as he would like which is deceptive in terms of liking the person more on the inside and shows how superficial a person an be if that is what they like.
Its pretty obvious when someone is wearing makeup and I at least have to go to bed and wake up without it on
haha that's weird i am the opposite of that guy i like girls without makeup if i haven't seen her without makeup at least once i will not date her.
Makeup is for myself. I have no responsibility or care if you fall in lust with the me with eyeliner on I don't wear makeup for the approval of random guys.
yup I'm sure it's not for the attention of random guys what's next showing cleavage is for you too and not for the approval of random guys get real.
@asker I would have to agree with this answer. I like wearing makeup even when I am home alone because it makes me feel confident and happy. It is like brushing your hair, you dont do it just for other people but for you too. Putting on makeup just makes me feel more tied together and clean, ready to start the day. I understand your point about the innapropriate use of clothing to get guys attention, that is either by accident sometimes or they are looking for attention from guys. Many girls, like me, dress modestly for ourselves. We all have expectations for ourselves, and for some it is to attract guys, for me it is to achieve my goals while being modest and doing what i want. It is hard to understand, but it is at least my opinion on the situation.
@Falling4UTC
Then you have to ask yourself, why do you feel "confident" wearing make up. What are the psychological or instinctual underpinnings of such a feeling. Our most basic drive is to procreate, most of our exhibited behaviours are a result of this. Psychopathologies notwithstanding.
My advice is to read up on behaviourism, in particular conditioned responses. Make up can not by itself make you feel "happy & confident", it has no mood altering properties. Likely you feel positive from wearing it because you are conditioned to. This will in turn be likely a result of feeling attractive. We generally feel attractive because of positive reinforcement from the opposite sex.
I did not say I feel attractive in it, just confident which though there is a connection between attractive and confident does not mean someone can't just be one of the two. I feel confident because I love to feel clean. I just got out of school right now and I feel not clean at all, because of running around. It is just something that makes me feel like I am taking care of myself. I dont brush my teeth for guys attention, but for me. I feel clean and on top of my life when I do certain things like makeup or cleaning.
the majority of girls and women wear makeup as they feel insecure and have no confidence without it. its society these days its changed everything
I hate makeup I'm a tomboy I think that it hides who you realy are from your self
what the actual fuck? the bottom picture isn't even the same person!!
it is but that's how much makeup can change a person
ITS NOT! the girl to the left is fucking jessica biel you dumbass! the girl to the right is sofia vergara! this is sofia with out makeup! celebfuse.files.wordpress.com/.../...a-vergara.jpg
Really I thought that too. I was confused because that is Jessica biel
@suraya thank you for also noticing that!
Yes make up is lying which is why I use it only to go out with friends but other than that I go every other day 100% natural
It's perfectly okay to wear makeup whenever you feel like it. But the minute you start wearing it to mask yourself it becomes unhealthy and deceptive.
Sure you could say makeup is deceptive but lets be honest if one day all women stopped wearing make up we would all worship makeup like a God lmfao
no i wouldn't
Make up vs alcohol is not even close to being the same deal.
they both seem similar forms of deception to me

www.telegraph.co.uk/.../...ng-to-pretty-women.html
It's shit like this that causes women to starve themselves and try to achieve perfect when in reality there is no such thing! Do you have a brain and eyes? Aside from a woman having a latex mask on you'd have to be pretty daft not to know what she looks like. God forbid she has a few blemishes under that make up and isn't perfection! It's make up, not plastic surgery! I wear make up because it makes ME feel good, it is not worn for your approval or to deceive you. Just fucking ridiculous!
Also photo's that have been altered are not actually what women look like in person. If a man has facial hair is he deceiving women by hiding his face? That's your theory reversed!
Also, getting a girl drunk to have sex with is rape.
i didn't say i would have a problem with acne you said that you put words in my mouth
no i have stated before and i will state again clothes, hairstyles, facial hair, etc. is not deception because it's styling or maintaining something that is already yours not adding something so that you look like something that isn't yours.
I am aware that having sex with a girl that is drunk is rape i am not saying that i advocate for date rape i am saying that i see alcohol as a tool of deception as much as makeup the only difference is precisely that that one is illegal and one is legal now if you will please come up with a new argument not discussed in the other opinions or simply state facts and not opinions that would be surprisingly pleasant.
It can be... But in real life women don't actually have the time or skills to flawlessly make them look like a different person. That's usually a team of makeup artists or beauty gurus who specialize in makeup. A lot of women are in my opinion beautiful without makeup, but it's just like seeing a person who normally wears glasses; it can be a but different when it's taken off. Just something you have to get used to. Plus those are just bad photos. Everyone has bad photos lol
if its like an inch thick and looks like a dead person, then ya.
if it's just to cover pimples or blemished or the previous late night :) then no
please spare our eyes and put on a little coverup if you have bad acne
that's not deceptive
Many women couldn't survive in this world without it. Not having makeup around could be likened to a humanitarian crisis for many of these girls. So I say keep it around for their sakes
Lol thats pretty True.
@The-Girl-In-Pink487
girls will be girls, hah
No. The people wearing it could be, but makeup itself?
Nah.
I love to wear makeup. It makes me feel feminine. Just because a girl wears makeup doesn't make her unattractive.
i know it doesn't make her unattractive and i wish more girls would realize they look better without makeup than with for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1KKjcleX0g
If you look at a girl and think that purple eye shadow or something comes naturally you deserve to be 'tricked'.
if you drink too much with a guy you deserve to be "tricked"
You just seem pathetic and now apparently a rapist. I hope you are 'tricked' and rejexted by every female you come across you clearly don't have any brains or respect for them. Wow. I think you're quite pathetic.
no i am not a rapist i am giving you a spoon full of your own medicine and apparently you didn't like it well i don't like to be deceived either.
@Opinion Owner
It is not rape to sleep with a women when she's drunk, only if she's at a point where she's unable to consent. "Drunk" is a very subjective term. Under the definition of drunk, most married couples have raped each other repeatedly. Does this seem reasonable?
Yes in a way sometimes if makeup is put lightly on then no but if it is caked then yes
Obviously it can be but it depends on how much you put on. You're examples are extremes too
they both seem similar forms of deception to me
www.dailymail.co.uk/.../...-people-attractive.html
www.scientificamerican.com/.../
www.telegraph.co.uk/.../...ng-to-pretty-women.html
@lovesTVDx he didn't even but the same people at the before and after pictures. the first girl at the bottom pictures are jesscia biel. the other girl with makeup is sofia vergara
Not always, makeup should be for fun not addicyion actress are crazy they can't without it, girls should learn to take care of their brains before faces, but it doesn't harm to lokk elegant and cute, but just not so different!
That second picture
It's like make up changed her race entirely LOooOooOoOoOL
yea... i try to control myself into less makeup products (like skinning the skin foundation, blush... etc)
but there's still things that i would feel less confident if i don't use e. g eye liner, lips and mascara
I look diffrent with make up then I do without, but I'm not ugly, I love lots of makeup but not because I hate my face, I just love wearing it.
Yeah but I never dated women who wear much makeup. I have lucked out and found natural beauties.
I think makeup is for enhancing beauty and not to be overdone.
I still say wear enough makeup for guys to actually see who you really are on the outside.
I think it's deceptive.
Makeup can be deceptive if you look totally different with and without it.
Yes i agree it is if the makeup is changing what the person would look like if they take it off..
Make up is live photoshop
Make up can do wonders
Vote A
It depends on how much they wear.
Yes it is...
As long as she always has it on... I think its ok
bahahah than what if one morning you see her without it?
You need a good canvas to create a masterpiece.
yeah yeah anything is considered art now a days
It is with contour and adding extra eye lashes
no make up. it's not naturel :)
This sounds silly. Who really cares?
according to the answers quite a lot of people care
If the girl looks good in the make up she wears, that's fine by me.
It sounds like you're picky. If so, whatever floats your boat.
To an extent yes..
It depends about someone's features
its not deceptive its enhancing :-) xxx
well alcohol enhances our charm...
huh?
i compared alcohol to makeup in my question
Jenna marbles is the the best example
