Im a big fan of vibrant colours when it comes to lipstick. My favourite colour is red. However I all my girl friends say its too much (even slutty...) and suggest things like brown and purple. Which are fine but not as fun to me.
What do you guys think? Is it weird to wear red lipstick to work/school. Does it look too much for everyday wear? Or is it for special occasions?
I figured red would be the least controversial color. It's considered a classic. It's what everyone thinks of when they think about lipstick. You don't often see bright red like in the picture with casual outfits, though. Generally when I see women wear it it's with evening wear, their Sunday best, or professional attire in an office setting. You don't often see it on women going around in jeans and t-shirts.
However, a lot of people argue that makeup should be a subtle enhancement, not actually noticeable at first glance. They say that lipstick should be at most one shade different than your natural lip color. For instance, my lips are dark pink, bordering on purple (circulation issues). According to those guidelines I could go with the darkest pink (one shade lower,) about halfway between the darkest shade and the middle shade (one shade higher), and I might be able to get a way with a medium shade of purple.
But then again, I wear bright blue lipstick every chance I get. If you think you look good in it and it's not causing you problems then wear it.
It really depends on the person. Some girls can get away with wearing it and they look amazing, others however stick out like sore thumbs n looks like they are begging for attention. It also depends on the type of red and when and where your wearing it. Ultimately your the only one who can decide what looks best on you and if it makes you feel confident about yourself then go for it.
Red is nice for special occasions. I personally am not a fan cause i like to kiss my girl and it task like crap lol. So when she wears it its like dont kiss me which sucks. Lol plus I think this is why guys die faster than woman. We ingest all those toxins inside the lipstick when we kiss our girl. Lol ;) but all kidding aside. I like natural look. A littke eyeliner and some foundations and most woman look amazing. To much makeup is hideous though. So make sure u have a good balance no matter what you do. Stay beautiful. :)
Hahah i totally get that. Whenever i taste my own lipstick im also like: gross. Its also kinda annoying that you leave some color on your partners lips. Altho its cute some times
Dont wear it everyday, and most importantly dont wear it at school. This is why, first and foremost, i think makeup is literal garbage and women look better when they are natural i dont know if thats a personal thing. Second reason why you shouldn't wear that to school, a lot of people will just look at your lips instead of your eyes when you speak, its very awkward...
That sounds very awkward indeed! I haven't experienced that however when im in a conversation with someone. I do wear makeuo since im an indian/asian and if i dont i look like im 16 years old hahah xD
Different guys like different things. I have noticed though that Hispanic guys like a lot of lipstick and Caucasians. Me personally being Asian, I don't like bright lipstick too much. I like eyeliner and light shades of lipstick if there is any.
Also I've only seen people wear lipstick to formals or holiday parties. This is just from my personal perspective. You don't have to feel a certain way because of others just do what makes you happy. Everyone is different.
Red lipstick is attractive in my opinion. I've even heard studies that say wearing red lipstick can increase tips at your job (like waitress or barista). I don't think it's slutty just to wear a certain shade of lipstick.
Depends on the person. Some people suit red whilst others it can appear too much. Certain colours suit a certain type of person. I guess it's the same with lipstick too 😊
Nah girl. You do you. I too love vibrant colours, as does my coworker. We get made fun off but that's because we know we rock the look and the others are just hatin. You're gorgeous with whatever lip colour you wear
I love red... honey wear what you want if that's blue or purple or black wear it and makeup is an expression of art... wear what makes you feel good... personally I think red is for everything and is my go to color the only time I won't wear it is to a funeral... just be you honey and you will be fine
If it's you, it's you. Be unapologetically yourself. Do what you want, wear what you want, talk to who you wanna talk to. It's no one else's life but your own!
I think putting on a lipstick colour which Is close to natural meaning your lips colour being red or pink is much better than those colourful lipsticks
Day-to-day it would be too much however on special occasions where you go out to a fancy restaurant or a somewhat fancy restaurant or maybe a Valentine's Day or anniversary dinner I would say it's okay
I personally like a good natural soft pink color or sometimes a subtle plum color if u wanna look a little vampy. But honestly like do what ya want, makeup is fun and should be enjoyable to you
