Why do most people discourage men for having smooth legs?

Most of the time people, including women and men, discourage men from having smooth shaved legs by saying that it's gay to have smooth legs and arms. The same people encourage men for having smooth chest.

Why is this way in society?

Because smooth legs attract men and not women

Because smooth legs are feminine

I feel differently, I love smooth male legs

I think it's because it's considered more feminine and leg hair is considered more masculine.

To me though, it's not always necessarily the case, because if a guy has muscular legs and he shaves them, then they'll look bigger and more defined, which does look more masculine.

Personally, though I hate body hair and think the hairless look, looks way better than having any hair, regardless of how a person is built and their gender, though it does look better on a guy than a girl, as it does look a little more on the masculine side.

So most girls think that hair on the arms and legs is manly and without it probably does make them look gay and/or feminine. But those same people probably like his chest bare because they want to see his abs, which are also manly- and chest hair on a guy starts to turn grey with age and most people aren't attracted to that.
I like chest, leg and arm hair so I can't speak exactly for those girls but that's just my interpretation I guess.

Exactly, that's really odd that the same women like natural hairy legs be it very hairy, but can't stand any chest hair. The same women want hairless upper male body. Seems a bit odd.

Hair on stomach and chest is hot. I don't care about guys pubic hair, it's their choice what to do with them, but I don't shave there because it's simply unhygienic to remove all the pubic hair.
That first leg is perfectly fine. That other one is a bit too hairy, but it needs trimming, not shaving

Society should stop categorising what should be on man's body and what should not. Sometimes it is something called genetics and we can not do anything about it.
