Why do most people discourage men for having smooth legs?

Why is this way in society?

I think it's because it's considered more feminine and leg hair is considered more masculine.

To me though, it's not always necessarily the case, because if a guy has muscular legs and he shaves them, then they'll look bigger and more defined, which does look more masculine.

Personally, though I hate body hair and think the hairless look, looks way better than having any hair, regardless of how a person is built and their gender, though it does look better on a guy than a girl, as it does look a little more on the masculine side.

So most girls think that hair on the arms and legs is manly and without it probably does make them look gay and/or feminine. But those same people probably like his chest bare because they want to see his abs, which are also manly- and chest hair on a guy starts to turn grey with age and most people aren't attracted to that.
