I've learned to stop questioning half baked fashion trends, personally. Like why some people have ponytails sticking straight up from the top of their heads, or why some people wear those shirts where the words are curved from shoulder blade to shoulder blade. Soon enough, they'll go the way of bell bottom jeans and whatever neon colored nightmares had their 5 minutes of fame in the 80s.
yeah, they are hideeeeeouuuus. I like tight-fitted jeans like skinny jeans or bootcut. something that hugs your curves and shows off your booty. I see so many women wearing them where I live, and they're so large and unflattering and with no shape. no thanks. I've never worn them and never will.
They look ugly. The baggy style especially at the front in really unflattering. Too me it looks like the pants are the wrong size or the person had nothing to wear and took it from someone else's closet.
I’m not a fan of female pants these. My heyday was when girls wore low-rise flare jeans. I didn’t like the skinny jeans when they came in style, I don’t really care for the high-waisted look because it reminds me of ugly 70s clothing, and mom and boyfriend jeans are maybe the worst things I’ve ever seen.
I have to admit, I'm not a fan. They remind me of the 80s and early 90s and well... jeans that moms wore back in the day. lol I never liked the look then and I don't like it now. ☺️ It's not the most atrocious thing, but I'm just not a fan.
nah, high-waisted jeans are sexy if they're skinny or tight-fitted. they show off the curves, but not mom jeans. mom jeans are unflattering, shapeless, and ugly.
That is just retarded. Nobody walks around with their belly out. They would just wear longer tops. It is not summer all year long, wake up and go outside a bit. Also, I have a nice waist line and abs and i look like shit in low waisted jeans, they make my legs look short and i always have to pay attention to my panties and hip fat coming out and I don't have much fat there.
Nobody goes out like that unless it is super hot outside. And the longer tops version is not as flattering because as I said, it makes everyone's legs look shorter. Crop tops and higg waisted anything looks more classy. Plus, anything low waisted is uncomfortable and a constant pain in the ass as you must be careful when you sit and bend.
If anything, you can talk crap about high waisted bikinis. Those are a diffetent story.
@emmily2396 They definitely don't look more "classy"-- they're just jeans or leggings-- they just look different. High-waisted bikinis are equally unattractive bullshit, sure.
I meant that in bikini it is quite the opposite. Showing your belly is normal and it looks quite weird to have your butt showing and your belly covered.
Also, I was saying high waisted stuff with crop tops looks classier than the other way around. This can mean skirts and trousers too, not just jeans
@emmily2396 Yeah I know what you were saying; I disagree. I don't think they look classier at all. A blouse or regular shirt with regular jeans looks just as classy as a crop with high-waisted nonsense.

@DianaWest They're mom jeans. They were originally designed as mom jeans so that preggo chicks could try ineffectively to hide their massive stomach/girth. The fact that now other non-preggo chicks also wear them doesn't matter.

Also, someone who has a belky will have it whether they wear high or low waist. Actually, lowwaisted helps hide it better because they can wear long baggy tops to cover it. You can't hide that if you wear a crop top and high waisted jeans because the jeans are skinny and show evey curve.

What you're trying realllly hard to differentiate as "mom jeans" indeed began sometime in the mid-80s, and are not the same thing as what are now known as "high-rise skinny jeans" and are of a slightly different style. Yes. Correct. Well done. What I mean by "they're the same thing," is that 1) one led to the other, and they are both 2) high-waisted and 3) look dumb.
Are high waisted skirts and trousers mom skirts/trousers? that is just dumb. Mom jeans are called that way because of how they sit on the leg, not the waist.
And as I said earlier. It is a lot more easier to hide the fact that you are out of shape with a baggy long top than with some skin tight skinny jeans if you pair them with a crop top. They are no different than a tight thick dress. Are these for out of shape people too or do you expect women to go in lingerie at events?

My boyfriend hates them because he associates it with something women wore at farms but I don't care, they are cool and wayyyy better for your health than skinny jeans.
Which is funny because they were originally targeted towards women who were not very thin, cuz the previous style of jeans that were popular what are the low waist hip huggers and many women complained about them because if you are more than 2 lbs overweight you would have a muffin top.
I think the jeans they wore in the 80's and 90's is what they were trying to replicate but with a new flavor. It fails in my opinion because they're misusing the material and color.
