How do you dress when you get a new ID picture?

I have to get a new picture and I was thinking of just wearing a solid black top and straight hair, with the usual amount of makeup. Should I put more on than usual? I know it's not a huge deal but I'll have this ID for a long time so I'd like it to be somewhat decent.

In Europe, it's recommended to only put on simple makeup. When we go away on holiday, I usually don't wear any makeup, so it would be weird to go through a passport check and not be recognised by the officers...

For my driver's license, I put on simple makup (foundation, mascara, eyebrow makeup (I usually only wear mascara)) to cover up my skin, but the picture is altered heavily anyways. Go with simple makeup and make sure that you wear a crew neck top, looks the best on an ID picture in my opinion (you shouldn't look naked).

I'd say try to look natural. For women especially hair and make up can change at any time and occasion, but natural would be best. Here when you take a picture for ID there is a strict requirement not to wear any make up or jewellery and to maintain a neutral expression (no smiles etc). And the picture is black and white

For my drivers license I don't even think until I get there lol... Then I go into the bathroom and straighten my hair. But i will say one thing, I envy you girls because you have the sense of mind to pay attention to details like dressing presentable but also having a makeup bag where ever you go. You don't look good, you can change that even if you forget :)

But as for me, yes I try to look decent because when I got mine taken as a teenager, I looked bad! I had to use that ID whenever I had exams in the hall and people would look at it. Ugh! When I entered uni, I couldn't bear it any longer so I reported it as missing then made a new one, phew! 😅

Now I look decent on my ID, passport and driving license photo. Even the officer who handed them to me when I collected them tell me my photos looked great lol! But of course I didn't take a great length to look unrecognizable like the in the video lol!!!

get the Real Photo Id. Now it's optional for Pennsylvania
residence but i don't know how many States in the US
they are requesting people to get Real Photo Id with
this Id it will be required to get into Federal Buildings etc.

I dont do anything special for ID pics. I do need to get a new license tho because in my current one I was pregnant when I got it so I look super chubby. Also I no longer live in that state

I think you're supposed to get a new ID after 25 days of new residency. That could just be in my state though. I got pulled over back in July and got a small lecture about getting it done.

Yeah it depends on the state. Since my husband is active duty I'm allowed to keep my home state license even if it expired I dont technically need a new one till he gets out but I want one because of my current picture and address

How does your husband being on active duty allow you to so called drive legally with an expired drivers license but a person who does not have a spouse on active duty would get in trouble for driving with an expired drivers license

@MysteriousDarkness every state has different laws for military. Me and my husband are both allowed to be expired until we return to the state after he gets out

It just occurred to me that I've always sported straight hair & a white, collared dress shirt in ALL my ID pictures. I never planned 'em all that way.

I literally just gather ALL my current & expired IDs, licences & passports to see for myself. I look exactly the same in ALL of 'em! I don't recall at all planning how to dress or style my hair prior to a picture shot. I feel so unimaginative! Grrr!

On a positive note, I haven't aged. Whew! :)

Lol my ID picture is soooo old. My hair is much longer and I looked very young in my old one. I think I was in my very early 20s.

But when you know what works for your hair, that's the way you keep it right?
My passport is not great... you can't even tell what color my eyes are!

Why worry so much about when more so than not who ever sees it does not care hiw you look in it. Where I live tou are most likely to show it if you look under age for alcohol and or tobacco products, night clubs, at a doctor's office or hospital.
