Can Tattoos be useful instead of just decorative?

Tattoos can be many things to many people, but have you ever thought that they could be useful in some way? Which ways that they can be useful can you come up with?

Some tattoos such as chains can say howmany years you were in prison the teardrop tattoo is for murder or attempted murder.

Before you judge somebody for tattoos they are probably not a criminal or murderer and if they are there tattoos will tell you if you can read them.

Well, hypothetically, we should be able to develop tattoos which would enable people to photosynthesize, and derive energy from the sun in the same manner that plants and several animals do. I imagine those tattoos would be very useful.

Yes, that was their original intent, to show your association with a certain group (gang, prison, sailors etc), now they have lost the original function but it can still be useful in descerning idiots from a distance.

Sure they can. I knew a girl who had a tattoo on her lower back that said 'love me here' with an arrow that pointed to her asshole. I found it very useful on multiple occasions.
