As a feminist, i should be against shaving, YET i depilate like a maniac... But i don't think it should fall into ant category of acceptance or non...
I think it's not even supposed to bother anyone.
If my hairy legs bother ME then i will get rid of it, but i won't do it because it's acceptable or not also because where does it even say? Is there a book of shaving rules? Nope, yet we sure got influenced by the media and follow those unwritten rules, YES I'M GUILTY OF THAT but at the same time i like it this way because it's MY CHOICE TO SHAVE, i just found the right input to give me the GO.13 Reply- +1 y
Imagine a man saying 'I am a liberal except I dislike freedom and it is MY CHOICE'
He'd be called a hypocrite - you simply assume you can claim to be anything you like, not stick with it, personalise the world to your preferences - and be RIGHTEOUS about it.
You are abusive, effectively, but with a sword prepared to attack anyone who tells you so. - +1 y
@NoLookingAtSoleil Let's say a lot of feminist would attack me if i SAY I RESPECT WOMEN'S RIGHTS YET I SHAVE. So i'm trying to sort of "fit in" with other thoughts as well. Yes you do have a point there, but it doesn't mean I will go Samurai on people that dissagree.
I love to learn from others and from my own mistakes as well.
Take care - +1 y
For me being a feminist is having the choice to shave or not without being shamed for either choice. I think you can't blame the individual for making choices to fit the system that oppresses them if it makes life easier for them. Most important is not to shame other women that choose not to shave.

I think it's ridiculous that women are expected to shave their entire body, or we're seen as unattractive. I don't give a fuck, if I want to go out with stubble on my legs and armpits I will, and if the creepy guy staring at them thinks it's unattractive, so fuck, his opinion means absolutely nothing to me. If guys can keep their hair then women should be able to should they want too, and not get judged for it.

You're free to do as you please and you are entitled to your opinion. Just don't be surprised if you're going to turn off many if not the majority of men. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
- +1 y
@TruthBringer I don't give a fuck if I turn off men, I'd rather do that. Why would I care about strangers opinions lol.
- +1 y
@acooke-13 Hey, if that's the way you want it, then that's on you. Just make sure you don't change your mind when you hit their 30s, which is something that happens an awful lot.
- +1 y
@TruthBringer I honestly don’t care, it is what I want because my boyfriend loves me therefore I don’t care for strangers opinions on my vagina, thanks tho!
- +1 y
That's nice. What I find funny is that you claim not to care about other people's opinions about your vagina, but you get angry of other people's opinions regarding other vaginas. Surely you wouldn't care about other people's preference when claiming you don't care about their opinions. Here you contradict yourself once again. Sorry love, but you reek of insecurity. But whatever helps you sleep at night ;)

yet the real question now is what exactly is stopping you? why won't you just let your damn hair grow already? - +1 y
yeah I'm mildly autistic alright, not sure what this has to do with anything but the asker did ask " Why is it ACCEPTABLE for women to walk around with hairy arms, but not hairy legs?"
acceptable does not mean ILLEGAL or forbidden, is not like the people who say it isn't acceptable have the right to force you not to do it or prosecute you in any way if you insist. which is exactly how you're acting in your op.
so if I'm autistic then you must have a huge self pitying complex
+1 yUsually armhair on women isn't so noticable. Well that is if the color is very light and matches with the skin. For some people it is visible, for others it is not. I've found that the armhair on white women often does match with their skin and that the hairs are very light. The legs are a different story because leghair can be a bit more rough, can be long and therefore more visible. I personally prefer that a woman doesn't have neither leg or armhair. And I'm blessed with a wonderful girl who takes care of that without me having to tell her

+1 yThis is a Great Question, really!
I actually had to think about this...
Maybe it started out with irritation or rashes from rubbing hair during intercourse? I have no clue...
But I thought about it, and a lot of men actually do have a kink for legs.
But how many people have a kink for arms or hands?
This was interesting!!20 Reply

529 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. I don't shave. Only sometimes my leg hair when I feel like having smooth legs on clean sheets and my armpit hair. The idea of a hairless woman was pushed by shaving companies and gave the idea that hair on women is shameful. I hate the idea of having no body hair because it makes me look and feel liek a child. If any man has an issue with it he can walk out the door and reflect on why he thinks it's bad/shameful/disgusting. Personally, I've never met a man who had issues with it.

An idea that make you feel that you must control every aspect of your appearance and that anything else is a mistake that need to be corrected. Plastic surgeons have made a forture. Body hair is a sign of maturity. A shaven body suggest childhood. Frankly, most things in life are best experienced when they are ripe. Ladies, wear it the way you want to. anyways im sure sociological conditions play a huge role in it. Legs are more sexualized on women then arms are. and hair is seen more as a manly trait than a womans (except on her head) so both these things combined make hairless legs a more desirable thing in our society then hairless arms.15 Reply- +1 y

Plus there isn't much hair that grows on the arms compared to legs. If you looked at my arms it's very short light hairs ya wouldn't really notice. My legs however dark middle length and just more noticeable.20 Reply
+1 yAcceptable seems like a strong word. While I prefer a hairless body, I would feel stronger about a woman doing her personal grooming the way she wants to.
On the other side, men with facial hair can definitely change people's attitudes about them simply by their choice in grooming.10 Reply548 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. In my experience girls arm hair has been light colored and sparse, whereas their leg hair has been darker and coarser. So less noticeable. Some gals shave only the part of their legs that show, as below the dress line. I dated a gal once who kept the visible part of her legs shaved, but hairy higher up. When I found that, I was actually a bit turned on by it. Kind of like being in on her intimate grooming standards. Did not bother me.

+1 yIsabel I think it has something to do with legs being considered more sexy than arms. And if I'm not mistaken, the thing about women being expected to shave their legs dates back a century ago when Gillette did an ad campaign aimed at women in order to sell their new safety razor. (It might have been longer ago than that.) But anyway, these cultural norms aren't really based on logic.
Expecting women to be completely hairless except for their heads is kind of weird in my opinion.10 Reply The only areas hairs are sexy so head and eyebrows and front of her p**ey and of course trimmed. The rest of she has peach hair? No one cares. But is dark hair is nasty.
I remember a Pakistani girl in crop top, and she came close to me and I told her why don’t you wax your stomach?
There was like a straight hair from her belly button going straight down.
She said is acceptable in her country.
I said is non-hygienic also I wonder how busy your p**sy is.
She waxed it that week.05 Reply- +1 y
For a girl it’s not feminine for a guy to leave it for Bush is not hygienic I live in Asia so I was talking about girls who leave their hair everywhere especially between their legs for grown hair gets stuck pees get stuck in etc. the girls vagina is right there so the hair traps everything a guys hair is on top of your dick we don’t have holes in the same way that’s why I said for a guy should be trimmed same for a girl unless she’s very hairy and she has hair going between her ass is more unhygienic.
I’ve seen girls with hair between their butt cheeks come on! That’s just nasty.
- +1 y
I have never seen a man without hair between his butt cheeks in my opinion, so that must be unhygienic, but y'all are not shaving either are you? We have the same poop hole so you would say that they should shave there as well to be hygienic.
The only people on earth without body hair naturally are children, people with alopecia or had chemo therapy. I think it's weird to think of something as feminine when no adult female in the world has that feature naturally (unless being sick then). I think you just don't really like women if you don't like our natural hair tbh, since every adult woman has it.
685 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. Because normal men aren't attracted to visibly hairy legs and traditionally women wanted to be attractive to normal men. It's the same reason why if you started growing hair on your face you would remove it. Don't worry, over time feminists will create 'hair acceptance' and demand that women be able to walk down the street with bushy legs and not be mocked. Those women won't be able to get any quality men but they'll celebrate the freedom of being too lazy to shave.
37 Reply- +1 y
@Ryi877777 Uh, very few men want women with hairy legs. Around zero of those guys have above average success in life too. So you go on with your fantasies about how you wish the world worked just because you're too lazy to shave your legs.

+1 yEh, it's just gender roles. It doesn't make any logical sense why society makes it seem like men can walk around with hairy legs, while women HAVE to shave, but it is how it is... I don't like it one bit, but it is how it is.
In time with practice we can break old traditional gender norms like this one, but it'll sure take a while.20 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yArm pit hair and pubic hair are secondary sexual traits like breasts. So biologically it does not make sense that men dont like it. Only kids dont have it. Your bodyhair is a sign that you are no longer a kid. It is also funny how boys-not men- walk like apes but hate on hairy female body in the commentsection. If you want women to shave themself, go shave your whole body first. Okay you can prefere shaved women but stop shaming on hairy women. It is none of your business whether a woman shave herself or not and if you shame on me, i will punch you. I am done. Pubic hair also protects you from infections. So shavin is actually unhealthy

This is so true. Do men even like actual women, because sometimes I really don't think so? They love to give the evolutionary argument in everything else like not liking fat girls/liking big breasts or liking an hourglass figure, however you would think that evolutionary seen secondary sexual traits should give an signal of fertility and therefore be seen as attractive. It shows that evolutionary arguments are generally very weak.

8K opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. To be honest, I don't care if they think it is a acceptable or not. It has nothing to do with hygiene, we all grow hair. It is normal. If I don't feel like shaving, I won't shave.
60 Reply394 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. It's fashion. Women generally look less attractive with body hair because that is a male trait. Attractiveness is mostly about creating babies, so things that exaggerate the differences between the sexes are usually more effective.
If a woman wants to limit her audience then not following these preferences is what she should do. However, don't complain about only attracting weirdos and fetishists.11 Reply931 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. Really? Care to point out how many women have been arrested for having "hairy legs" or been "promoted" for having hairy arms?
What you're confused about is "aesthetics". Hairy skin does not look good next to smooth and slick fabrics. If all you're wearing is pyjama's, however, you can be hairy like King Kong for all it matters to aesthetics.10 ReplyI have very fine hairs so the little hairs on my arms just look like peach fuz but for women with thick hairs on the arms I think people do expect them to shave. I shave my whole body regardless because I don’t like the feeling of hair on my body.

@Inbox Typical idiot man that obviously doesn't understand the term feminism. I'm not a feminist and couldn't care less about it, my issue here is that this grown man want's a woman's vagina to be clean shaven, which makes it looks like a child's. Which is why I said that was noncey.
- +1 y
@acooke-13 Try that again, but not drunk. I wasn't referring to you ya wanker. I've written two papers on Feminism, but thanks for playing.
- +1 y
@acooke-13 I hope this isn't your best. I understand tho, it's SAD to be an unfuckable loser like you, but a typical angry woman with no options clearly misinterprets everything as a woman hater just because of a small disagreement. Such a high IQ is shameful as it is to behold! Please don't breed 😂😂😂
- +1 y
@acooke-13 hahaha, we get it - you're self projecting. Your level of insults clearly reflects that IQ, but that's to be expected when COVID has more value to the world that you do 🤣 Until then, keep canoeing by yourself mmmkay 😘
- +1 y
@acooke-13 You claim not to be a feminist and then proceed in using shaming tactics that are most often used by feminists. Also, just because you're a woman, doesn't make you automatically right. The fact you're calling someone else a "misogynist" for merely stating a VERY COMMON preference (clean shaved) goes to show you're actually projecting. You're obviously a feminist not only because of the way you talk, the way you shame others without a true basis, but because you also support the idea of being hairy just to rebel against male preference. That's typically what feminists do. Just because someone doesn't share your views, doesn't mean they are inheritely a "misogynist". Not that I expected you to know such basic rule. All this because a man prefers a cleanshaved woman. Last time I checked a lot of women like it when men shave down there aswel, women like my girlfriend that is. But I guess by your logic, she likes to fuck "little boys".
- +1 y
@TruthBringer I claim not to be because that is a fact, I am not. I didn’t call the opinion owner a misogynist, you obviously read that comment wrong, I called that fact ‘noncey’, because it is. If you want to cry and agree with him, and be a nonce yourself, thats your own problem. Have w nice evening baby cakes
- +1 y
@acooke-13 I don't know what "noncey" means because I live in the real world. You can keep your internet slangs to yourself. The fact you can't come with a single comment without the use of ad hominems says more about you than the other person. It is time to realize that you're getting riled up over a man who is stating his personal preference. One that the majority of men share. This is more of a you-problem than someone else. You can try to hide the fact that you're a snowflake all you want, but you're pretty bad at it. And nice try trying to convince anyone you're not a feminist, everything you've said points to the contrary. But whatever floats your boat, cupcake.
PS: "Don't worry, I know how to handle you misogynist men". Yes you're calling others "misogynists" even though they have not said anything misogynistic. Logical fallacies are your thing. - +1 y
@acooke-13 I just Googled "noncey" and clearly you don't even know what it means yourself, hence why you're misplacing words in an attempt to shame others as a means of damage control. Educate yourself on "nonce" since that is referring to pedophiles and pedophillia. If you think an adult man prefers a shaven adult pussy is "pedophillia" or as you put it "noncey", then you need to go back to school and learn what pedophilia is. Your lack of intellect is also showing now. Calling people a pedophile because they merely happen to prefer someone who shaves. Must be a sad life you have.

@TruthBringer I didn’t realise we had two insecure boys here!! The fact you guys don’t realise I am completely winding you up is absolutely hilarious. I thought since you’re both the clever ones you should’ve picked up on that, but hey ho! Yes, nonce refers to pedophiles, that is exactly what I meant therefore I don’t need education on that! Anyway, I’ve had a fab night guys, thanks for the entertainment it’s been an absolute pleasure! All the best with your bald vaginas 😁

@acooke-13 Australia is beautiful, had to go that far to find a mate eh? 🤣
- +1 y
@acooke-13 Thanks for proving my point that you’re intellectually incapable to come up with a valid argument without the use of logical fallacies. It seems like ad hominems are your go-to. It seems like you do need a bit of education on what pedophilia actually means considering you’re accusing people of it. I’ve also used my girlfriend as an example to debunk your little ignorant and unintellectual accusation (pedophilia). So if my girlfriend likes it when I shave down there, by your definition, she would be a ‘pedophile’. The fact you make such a connection is absolutely sick and you clearly need help. Anyway, enjoy living with your misandry and toxic feminist ideology, little dove <3

- +1 y
@Inbox Yeah I'm not going to talk shit about her boyfriend, but it wouldn't surprise me if her boyfriend is one of those male feminists who usually have no options in dating, so they try to score some pussy points through backing up feminists. If he likes a bushy vagina, all power to him, but bushy armpit hair is something that disgusts not only the majority of men, but even the majority of women. In my country for sure lol
- +1 y
@TruthBringer yup lol. What country are you from? The F35 is an impressive machine, but the new FX fighter and it's capabilities will make the F35 seem like a toy plane.
- +1 y
@Inbox I'm from the Netherlands. I'm soon going to fly the F-35, but I'm waiting for my class's turn. The FX truly is some badass plane, but I'm more focused on flying the F-35. Which is funny because according to the emotional snowflakes here, I'm some "incel" and yet I've never seen an incel fly a fighter plane nor be in a relationship 😂. Tomorrow I'm going to enjoy my girlfriend's cleanshaved legs, arms and pussy. Something only true feminine women have. Not women who talk smack about men and then proceed to try and mimic being one like the pink snowflakes here 😂
- +1 y
@TruthBringer Nice man! Enjoy that! It's unlikely tho that the FX plane will ever be sold to even US allies because it will be a 5th generation plane killer and be barred from being sold like the F22 was. Have fun with the girlfriend bro! My friends with benefits is coming over tomorrow and she takes good care of herself so 😋

You also have fun with your friends with benefits, just imagine how much of a turn-off it will be if she didn't shave her armpits or legs. I know it would be for me. - +1 y
@acooke-13 Sweetheart, I'm just talking on your own level. I know it agitates you when a man expresses his preferences that don't align with your own belief. So you attempt to give the illusion that you're the one who is "having fun". People aren't so dumb as you think. But by all means, keep trying to hide the fact that you're triggered (hence why you responded with your "noncey" nonesense). But keep coping boo <3
- +1 y
@TruthBringer no no sweetheart, I’ve literally been the same the whole way through the conversation, I didn’t just change because I thought I wasn’t ‘winning’ the argument. It’s okay to bite when you feel threatened or agitated, so don’t worry, I understand. I’d maybe just try hide your fragile masculinity abit more. But anyway, I have places to be, have a great day, would be nice to bump into you again soon!
- +1 y
@acooke-13 " It’s okay to bite when you feel threatened or agitated" - Says the girl who implies that men who like shaved legs, arms and a coochie are inheritely have pedophilic tendencies and then proceeds to act like she is "amused" when in reality, she is the one who got triggered about a man stating his (very common) preference. Ah, classic case of projection. And even now using the term "fragile masculinity" - Ah yes the typical feminist shaming tactic. Tell us again how you are 'not' a feminist as you claimed? You clearly cannot come with valid counter arguments other than the use of ad hominems. And yet I'm the one who is "agitated", another classic case of projection right there. All because a man stated his preference in a shaved coochie omfg this is great 😂😂

@TruthBringer you’re still here, that’s all that convinced me, sweetheart ❤️

@acooke-13 I can say the same about you love. The fact you're still replying goes to show you're desperate to have the last word because someone happened to share a preference which doesn't resonate with you. Because God forbid men would have preferences lol. Sweetheart, if it makes you feel better, I can give you the last word. Anything to soothe your fragile feminist ego 😘 <3

@TruthBringer when he brings out his fragile side in every single response 🥰🥰🥰 I’m sorry I didn’t read the paragraph but England are currently beating Ukraine 🤞🏽 🏴

@acooke-13 Gotta love the projection in this one. Men like shaved armpits, boohoo 😂

@TruthBringer ITS COMING HOME, ITS COMING HOME, ITS COMING, FOOTBALLS COMING HOME 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴

@acooke-13 I thought you had places to be? Yet another contradiction - you are the living proof on why the Chinese think the West is in decline. We get it tho, you couldn't make friends or find a decent man, so you found a pussy boy to spoon feed you.
Although, with you two whose laundry list of deficiencies that rival the height of Tapei 101, you won't be an issue for mankind for too long. Oops! Sorry! I meant to say humankind! Please don't report for being a sexist. 🤣🤣🤣 - +1 y
@Inbox I just love how she continues to act like she didn't get triggered by the OP for stating his preference for shaved women. And when she couldn't procude valid arguments, she resorts to red herrings (like now) and other logical fallacies. Another classic case of defense mechanism. I swear these feminazis are zo predictable😂

@acooke-13 One thing we both have in common apparentely <3

@acooke-13 I'm sorry, I'm definitely not interested in catching the game with you. It speaks volume that you're attempting such an endeavor half a world away. I'll give you credit for that attempt - say 6/10? LOL
- +1 y
@TruthBringer LOL. You can't fix stupid.

@acooke-13 Your responses are boring, you can go now.

@acooke-13 you bite hard little princess, I love it! LOL
- +1 y
@acooke-13 You have teeth? I'm impressed. You must only have 6 since you live pay check to pay check after all :) Now, that's a face of a noncey.
- +1 y
@acooke-13 Oh yes, but you mean you had other people pay for it? LOL Even with all that comfort, you still ran away to Australia. SMH

@Inbox While missy here is depserately resorting to logical fallacies, I was enjoying making love to my girl who happens not to have a single hair on her arms, legs, armpits or her coochie. Something only real (feminine) women know how to pull off <3

@acooke-13 Why don't you tell me then why you left England? Or are you blaming everyone else, aka victim mindset, for all your problems in life?
+1 yIt's just a social norm. They're arbitrary and change with time.
40 ReplyI mean who do these limbs belong to and why are you walking around with them in the first place? lol

+1 yDepends on which country you live in. I know that in Japan and South Korea your arm hair would not be acceptable either.

+1 yBody hair seems to be masculine and reduces attractiveness.

You've angered many pink G@G users for simply static a fact and for simply sharing your preference. Gotta love those snowflakes

+1 yMy theory has long been that we feel girls should continue to look like the little girls they always were. Also, it just doesn't look great to be a hairy girl, especially if you intend to wear pantyhose.
00 Reply listen, the hair on your arms is typically more soft and less noticeable as well as less thick than the ones on your legs.

+1 yI think it's sort of an indicator they're not kept clean in the nethers. Like automatically a thing some people think of. Smooth looks better to some than others. So I don't know I'm more for the smooth too so

It's a hairy situation
Because an arm is not attractive/considered sexy but legs are considered feminine and " supposed " to be sexy

+1 yLegs can get pretty hairy, arms not as noticeable. Body hair is pretty gross though, you should shave everywhere.
10 ReplyI shave because I can't stand hair on my legs it'd not because of society it's just for me

+1 yIf you want to be technical, arm hair is generally finer than leg hair, therefore less offensive.

+1 yI honestly don't care. In fact, I actually prefer if women left hair in certain places if you catch my drift. Just be clean.

+1 yPeople usually look at the ground. And legs are on the ground. So, if someone see hair on your legs if you're a guy that's cool, if you're a girl it can be a turn off

+1 yWe don’t typically check out women’s arms unless someone has an elbow fetish.
11 Reply- +1 y
I got a dislike from the one guy on the planet with an elbow fetish that hates body hair.
It's acceptable, just not as attractive.
Same for dudes.10 Reply- Show More (30)
Why do most girls like hairy legs but not hairy chest?
