If you don't know how to do a basic edit (white balance/contrast/etx.), color correct and color grade a photo, then you could use something like Alien skin exposure (and almost always decrease the opacity of the preset to 50% or less).
Second photo is more interesting. But it's been overworked. Looks like an Instagram filter, which is pretty typical. If it's Photoshop, I'd back it off a bit, and go in between au naturel and this oversaturated one. Just a touch.
You're welcome! I just read through the other replies and am surprised how many prefer the first. But I'm sticking to what I said! I worked professionally in photography. You could also save es204...'s subtlely edited version and use that as your starting point, if you want to play some more in PS.

Yeah.. better camera could do better. But that's a candid pic. I was talking with a friend and a car sound made me to look through window. Friend took this pic from his mobile.
