Am I the only one who doesn't think that pimples are a flaw?

Why do people have the need to Photoshop their skin so much?

It's cool to see someone who is not bothered by such "flaws". I, too, am tired of every picture these days being filtered and Photoshopped within an inch of its life in the name of vanity. Sadly, the pervasiveness of this is a manifestation of an insecurity brought on by our society's overly-zealous and constant scrutiny over vanity, and the pursuit of "perfection". Which, in the vast majority of cases these days, is usually an illusion, and completely and unrealistically unattainable anyway.

But where does this obsession with vanity get us? What good is this constant pursuit of "beauty" if we can't be comfortable in our own skin? It's gotten to the point where young girls are using filters to "beautify" themselves because they're afraid they won't be seen as pretty because of a pimple or some other perceived "flaw" that causes them anxiety to the point where they feel the need to filter and Photoshop pictures of themselves. Even in the case where it's "just for fun" - whether it's intended or realized, or not - it creates an internal contrast and complex of comparison that can, and does lead to insecurities over time with enough exposure to it.

in my opinion, all this vanity insanity is a sickness and it's not healthy. It's become generational and it needs to stop.

I think a little photo editing skills can go a long way. But when you edit it so much that it no longer looks like you... That's when we've a problem.

It's not so much that it's a flaw, I think that clear skin is simply really beautiful. So like, having a few back heads and pimples won't work against you (as long as it's not severe acne), but not having any do make you look prettier

Thing is worrying about mild pimples too much isn't good for you and covering them up isn't either.
If you want smoother skin get so exfoliating cream and wash your face every morning and evening, anything other than that you should only do exceptionally ( for example make up), or if you have really bad acne (for example medication)

Well it isn’t a flaw but it is a bad thing. You aren’t cleaning your face enough if you have them so a lot of people feel like they need to photoshop them out because they don’t want to look dirty. But they are natural and honestly just a part of how life works. Everyone gets them and there shouldn’t be such a stigmatism around them.

It's not always cause of not cleaning the face. Pimples are caused by hormones too

For me acne won't go away even if I clean my face often. It really sucks but something I've gotten use to. The only thing that helps is if I use rubbing alcohol but it's really drying and bad for the skin but calms the acne a little so I do that sometimes

The only time I've been able to live without acne was during pregancy and it was luxurious. Anyone with clear skin doesn't know how lucky they are to live like that all the time

I dont get how so many people say dont pop them. If you pop them they go away fast. If you leave them they stay forever, might as well name them. I had a friend in HS refused to pop them because you're not supposed to. He just kept getting more and more. I always pop mine and id get one then its gone. Never would build up so many as him. No as adults his nose especially looks like a gnarled mess, mine looks really good.

I think many people are dirty and they literally used the bathroom or finished digging in the dirt outside and then pop them and just leave puss on their face... so it gets infected. Id clean my hands and face really good and make sure its clean. Never had an issue with infected pimples.

I think the same. They come and go. I've had moments when my mates took pictures for an occasion to remember. I had a pimple on my face which i obv wish wasn't there. But shit happens. Why let a pimple ruin my mood? Or let it deny me from enjoying the occasion? The pimple will go away gradually.

I think sincerely they’re a very little flaw but it can be solved by time, aside from disastrous cases. Todays culture of image brings people to have photoshop faces at the point their visage seem to be made by clay.

I agree about the pimples as body pushing something out, but disagree with you about warts. Wart is caused by a virus (HPV) ordering body to produce excess keratin so the virus can more easily spread to new hosts.
