Why is it considered odd to wear long sleeves in summer, but it’s not considered odd to wear pants in summer?

People always make a big deal about the fact that I like to wear long sleeved tops in summer (to stay out of the sun). They’re always saying I must be hot, why am I wearing it, etc.

But isn’t it the same concept as wearing jeans or other pants? Why do people see that as more “normal”?

I like to wear long sleeves in the full sun also, to keep the sun off my skin. As long as it is lightweight and breathable fabric of course.

Only once that I can think of. I just said that it is better to keep the sun off of your skin. Where I was at the time, was hot! LOL

honestly it really depends on the type of material the clothing is made from. as to if someone would end up with heat stroke or not. since some fabrics tend to breath better then others. but so long as they stay hydrated they should be fine most of the time.

When you think about it it’s true. But I know know why. I mean that they have suits that have pants and a shirt sleeve shirt but not a long sleeve shirts and shorts. I’ve seen in more casual wear shorts and long sleeves. In your case I don’t think it’s weird.

long pants are professional and you just have to wear them when you work usually in office works. I don't work so mom right now that is summer when she sees me in jeans she asks if I'm crazy cause it's hot outside. She ends up being right. it's too hot for jeans. If you don't have a reason to wear them don't 🤣. And for long sleeved tshirts as well it's just too hot.

I always try to be as naked as possible because sunlight is good for us. I don't live that close to the equator so it's pretty much impossible to get too much.
