Do your eyes see a pretty woman when you look at this picture?
Do you think the woman in the picture is pretty or not pretty?
Yes, there is a subjective element to appearance. That being said, there are certain elements to beauty which are *not* subjective. Furthermore, there have been studies showing that ugliness is much more universally agreed on than beauty.
The overwhelming majority of people will find the woman in the picture above to be physically unattractive. Although it's sad, it's an undeniable truth. She is Lizzy Velasquez, by the way, and she is amazing. She might be a beautiful human being, but most people will find her physically unattractive. Furthermore there are evolutionary reasons why we find people physically attractive or unattractive.
Most people will find the woman in your picture beautiful. Most people will find the woman in my picture unattractive.

No I don´t believe that statement because of my real life experience. In rare cases it might be so but in the majority of cases I don´t think it works.
I´d rather say people follow the beauty standards set up society but they vary in the amount of importance they put into it. I think it´s naive that people could separate themselves from that completely.
There are people that are more and people that are less attractive to society´s view point and therefore everyone wants to be in a relationship that´s good looking.
P. S.: The woman is good looking.
Yes it is very true, so really hot looking people at first but as I get to know their piss poor personality turn into ugly toads... and average looking guys as I got to know them start to look super hot to me later.
Yes I do
I used to date a guy and most people thought he was"ugly". I thought he was very handsome though. I didn't see him the way others saw him. I never let other people's opinions change mine if him.

She’s very pretty and yes beauty is in the eye of the beholder
To some extent, although it's obvious that some people are more attractive than others. However, after getting to know someone, physical attractiveness becomes less important. The best sex of my life was with an exceptionally bright woman who was somewhat overweight.
Do you believe the saying beauty is in the eye of the beholder is true?
This is definitely true. Not everyone has the same taste or interest.
Do your eyes see a pretty woman when you look at this picture?
Yes
Do you think the woman in the picture is pretty or not pretty? She seems pretty hot based on looks alone.
yep... very pretty girl, it's a still picture.. you wouldn't recognize her if you saw her at the laundromat. Wouldn't be less pretty but the perception might be different for some. The way a person moves. The sound of their voice. The facial expressions... a lot goes into what's pretty. I also know that I've been absolutely smitten with people before that friends just didn't get the attraction... so yeah... very much in the eye of the beholder.
The phrase is true - each person has their own opinions about beauty - but it's also true that the majority of people have a similar enough opinion that we know what most people will consider beautiful.
The problem is that when you come across an exception, they stand out and you notice them more. That woman above is not my type at all, so I can't say if she's pretty or not.
The most beautiful woman on the planet with her killer smile that brings a heart attack to over 10 million people in the world is something else entirely! 😍
Yes. I think Keira Knightly has the sexiest tits ever but most people her, men and women, will say she isn't hot because her breasts are small. This is a case where what I love isn't what other people love.
I think the saying has SOME truth, but it's MINIMAL. The truth is society DOES have it's STANDARDS of BEAUTY. If this were not so we wouldn't have supermodels. People judge with thier eyes long before they do with thier hearts. Yes people can can find value in somebody who looks "unconventional". But that's ONLY if they can tolerate looking at them long enough to discover that side of them.
Definitely, beauty is subjective. What I find attractive someone else may not. I like South Asian men but doesn’t mean others will, It’s all up to the person! Some people love tanned skin some like pale, some like Blonde and some like Brunette. We all have our own tastes. 😊
I believe we all have different ideas of what beauty is. For me, someone can have a beautiful soul, rather than a beautiful face. Looks fade away. Personality and soul does not.
Yes, I believe that the saying is true. Nothing is "objectively" beautiful; beauty only exists in people's heads. And yes, the woman in the picture looks very pretty to me.
yes, there have been guys who outright told me I was beautiful while other guys wouldn't give me the time of day.
Can you give me an example of how the saying could not be true? Wouldn't that require that every person in the world found the same people pretty and no one having a different taste than the other?
The woman in the picture is pretty and I believe that Beauty is in the Eyes of the Beholder is true.
Pretty much, yes. I do think the lady in the picture is pretty.
I equate that saying to observing a fat woman as being “big boned”
She fairly pretty, and ugly people are seen as ugly by most people, they not popular.
I believe it to be totally true and accurate.
If beauty is in the eyes of the beholder what happens if the beholder is blind?
Yes and the pic is average. Also a little edited.
