Did you like it better when superheroes wore the spandex/leather looking costumes or the armor/iron/chrome/steel looking ones?

I definitely feel I’m in the minority vote here.  But im not big on whatever the armor looking suits are called. I’m no seamstress so I don't know wtf this stuff is actually made of. I just know I hated  Spiderman’s  iron looking suit that Iron Man made. I definitely preferred his softer spandex lookin suits from Spiderman 1-3. I initially wasn't a fan of  Wonder Womans  newer armor like outfit but it grew on me. I hated  Supermans  newer leather and armor lookin suits despite it being a relief to not see his underwear outside of his pants. I didn’t really like any of  Batmans  suits. I preferred the  Power Rangers  spandex over their newer armor. I definitely hate  The Flash’s  suit. I’ll always prefer Halle Berry’s Catwoman and  Catwoman  suit over the others. Thats just me #FeelFreeToList EXAMPLES—

It depends on the character, but in most cases the armor based ones.

Out of the characters you posted, the exceptions would be:

1. Superman since he has no armor based ones (the turquoise suit looks best) and his body acts as armor so armor makes no sense.
2. Batman, who I think looks best in the bottom left suit option.
3. Human torch (for some reason i expect no armor on the fantastic 4 because thats the thing's super ability, so it would be weird if they others "copied" him.
4. Catwoman, because her skillset is being sneaky, and her demeanor is being seductive, so covering up with bulky/heavy armor is contrary to her character.

Spider-man could go either way on armor because his is useful even though he is durable and strong without it, and most of his suits look cool, armored or not.

The flash I feel has to have special armor to not end up naked when running at spacetime breaking speeds.

Wonder woman doesn't need armor, but her classic armor looks cooler than her old custume of similar design.

Out of the 3 power ranger options, the third one where its part metal, part leather and has a cape added, actually looks the best in my opinion.

I’m definitely more in to the leather looks myself over spandex but I don’t like there being armor under it. And I dont like there being armor at all. Like I would much prefer Superman’s suit he wore in man of steel over his spandex and underwear thing. And the flash in his leather suit from the show over his dumb armored suit they gave him in now. But I also like the spandex over the armor look.

Spandex on the guys. Leather on the cat 🐈‍⬛ lady, only. Unless there are other bad-ass night heroes/villains.

Armor only, for Wonder Woman. She’s a super warrior. 💪 I couldn’t take her seriously in simple cloths, unless it were a super female of the cavemen days…

Otherwise, wonder woman’s costume would look like a… costume. 🎃

Spider-Man’s newest fit is cool and I can appreciate it when we also have access to the classic looks, but I’d very much love to see ‘super males’ in their spandex 😭

Time to go watch Andrew Garfield try to save Gwen and Tobey McGuire do some New York swinging stunts 🥵

Spandex, especially with the underwear on top. 😂 Seriously, I like the old looks way better. Mostly because the new versions look like the superheroes are all on steroids, which to me is not sexy.

Honestly this is a great question.

Personally, it depends on the superhero for me.
There is a certain charm of spandex, a badass look of armor steel / tech, and the pure sex appeal of leather / latex material.

I hate to feel copy and paste, but the best example of good spandex is Spiderman for me personally and pure sexiness of leather being Catwoman in her bodysuit (turns me on so much lmao).

Now with exceptions here, I think Batman being dark and brooding in his full black suit with outlines and muscles shit looks more like a Hero with a vengeance and ready to protect his city in the dark of night. Not putting up shit from no one especially The Joker. Definitely a cool take on the character as a whole.

Iron Man could never work with Spandex, he is a Man of Iron so to have technological advancements in a fully weaponized flying capability suit of armor is cool AF.

Spiderman makes sense since he’s young, agile, and light on his feet.
Like he isn’t known for really kicking ass like a tough guy but he needs to climb on buildings, swing from webs, and fight hand to hand combat though if he was too bulky it wouldn’t be a smooth glide on their air or climb. It is grounded in reality that way (yes its a comic book character, but its true lol).

I guess what I’m really saying is, I’d totally f*ck Catwoman. See ya! 🤣

At least where Power Rangers and other Sentai series, they have to keep making more unique designs to have it be interesting for fans. That's part of the gimmick. As for the others, underwear on the outside was originally made to make it easier to draw. I think combination costumes could look better, just without the extreme bulkiness. Putting aside the fact I'm avoiding the Flash movie due to Ezra, both costumes showcased for the Flash look dumb. Too bulky, and then they over did the decorations.

Honestly, i like the armor/bio-armor look looks more professional, than looking like a cheap outfit. Now if you want actual armored heroes, look at heavy metal fantasy age of hero comics

All comes down to quality. Some of the Spandex looked good, some of it looked like amateur hour at a cosplay convention. Same to be said of the metal costumes. It differs per hero.

Genuinely, tight spandex on guys is always a plus and if it's leather it is even better. I love how they look cinched in tight fabric like that. The metal armor is hot too and looks better on Superman and Batman than their spandex outfits.
