Is it weird to do sexy cosplay of characters who are children?

Just wondering everyone’s opinions cause I see some people who say it’s a bit weird.

For example you’ll see a lot of “sexy Dorothy” costumes but Dorothy is supposed to be 12 years old in the movie.

Personally I feel as long as the person wearing the costume is an adult themselves, I don’t really care

Yeah I do agree its weird. I am ok with older characters if you really want to sexualize yourself and the character but keep that from children characters thats just inappropriate. Sadly nothing surprises me anymore, I have seen a "sexy baby" haloween cosplay some time ago.

I've done little red ridding hood and the big bad wolf before, and me and the girl at the time didn't find it weird, lol. I think it's up to you. Everyone has different opinions of things like that. It's not like there's actual children involved.

As long as the person wearing the costume has an adult woman's body, I don't see a problem. It can be super hot when a woman pretends to be innocent just for fun. Dorothy, Little Red Riding Hood, school girl, whatever.

As long as you aren’t doing anything offensive such as blackface or anything stereotypical, it’s not appropriation
