Why do people correlate having things and money to happiness?

I’ve come across people with so little in life yet they seem to be the happiest, glowing the most and essentially more attractive because of they aura/energy and physically attractive because happiness often makes you prettier or more handsome. Though the ones with everything or pretending to have everything, I won’t say they aren’t attractive or glowing but it’s usually almost nothing compared to those who have less than them.

I think it has a lot to do with what you do with your money. I like being able to help out causes that are important to me and not having to worry about how much is in the bank and when the bills are due. I'm also not buying a new mercedes every six months and only go to redbox when i have a promo code. A lady was going to lose her dog at Christmas a couple years ago because it got hit by a car and required massive surgery. she couldn't even afford the payment plan the vet was going to put her on. i am glad (and very fortunate) to have had the money so I could provide that. nobody deserves to lose their fur baby on Christmas. I couldn't do that if I was financially struggling, and when coupled with the constant reminders of my own mortality it provides an outlet to get rid of stress in my life

Having enough money = less things to worry about

Shopping releases endorphines, but not the owning things part, its the buying things part, thats makes you happy just like gambling it is the moment the stuff roles in. Buying stuff makes you happy for a little while.

Real and lasting joy comes from God, which is why selfish people with billions end up miserable and depressed. Unless you love yourself, love others, and love your creator and Mother Nature, you will never find true happiness, you will only get the superficial mock up variant of happiness that causes more sorrow long term for its short term joy.

I know guys with near genius IQs that are so miserable, they can’t even flip burgers at McDonald’s due to depression blocking their thoughts. My friend knows somebody with enough cars in his garage for a full house party that can’t even drive a car due to traumatically poor health and a weakened body. Only the love of God is real happiness or the untainted kindness of human beings to other people and animals.
