I think it’s best to never look upset or annoyed in front of the people who try to irritate or insult you.

We can't shut people's mouths, change their way of thinking or evoke empathy in them. The only thing we can do is ignore these ill-mannered dumbass people and strengthen ourselves so that we don't take their comments to the heart.

Yes I know it's very hard to not take their comments seriously. It crushes our hearts if someone makes us feel unloved. It leaves us with wounds and insecurities. It becomes difficult to love ourselves. 💔

But can you tolerate these painful emotions any longer?

NO ❌ Right?

So try to love yourself …HOW?

1. Cut the negative self-talk
2. Acknowledge your feelings
3. Cut off toxic people
4. Stop taking things too seriously
5. Spend time alone and know yourself
6. Say “no” when you need to
7. Don't compare yourself to others
8. Accept that some people won't like you
9. Surround yourself with people who treat you with kindness and respect
10. Smile more, it makes you beautiful
11. Embrace your imperfections

Well always  consider the source.  Is this person ugly themselves and just projecting? People who throw out unprovoked insults are usually trying to compensate for their own insecurities.  In my life experience I noticed that fat girls are by far the worst about this. They either are really cool or have horrible personalities out of bitterness. Not much in between.  Not that you should tolerate bullying. If you can’t think of a quick comeback then ignore them and disassociate from them if you can. Realize that kind of (unprovoked) insult almost always stems from their own insecurity. Happy people don’t feel the need to go around disrespecting people.

The best I ever saw this handled was when a guy at work said this to a relatively known woman. I was stunned by the boldness and arrogance. Without batting an eye she replied “Well, I can see why you have the rep you have. I guess what I was told was accurate.” That guy stopped dead in his tracks, and looked shocked. He then spent the next few weeks trying to research what this rep was.

Funny thing is bullies and assholes ALWAYS have an insecurity at the root of their behavior so that response hit him deep and rocked his worldview of how he thought people viewed him. It actually slowed that guys attitude down for quite some time.

I can’t think of the last time I was called ugly. The worst I got was when I was heavier a woman asked if I was pregnant and I responded that no I was just fat. Another time a coworker made a comment about my butt being long and flat (which isn’t true). I just told her I never had any complaints and moved on. It is just one of those things where I know I’m not ugly and when I have gotten comments it was more of a reflection of the other person and their insecurities. Most of the things other women have commented as being a ‘negative’ thing about my appearance were the same things that attracted men, so the best thing was always just to make a quick quip and move on.

Your best option would be to ignore them, but obviously we are not here for that. i would say don’t stoop yourself to their level and call them ugly back because now it makes you seem like you are offended. I always found that make them feel uncomfortable with their comment usually works, be witty about it.

This reminds me of a video I saw of a pyschologist explaining how men and women insult each other differently. When women insult each other it’s about their looks or their reputation. Men insult each other more about competence and toughness. If a guy that was about to fight me told me I was ugly I’d be like wtf 🤣🤣🤣
