Will water proof acrylic paint stick to polymer plastic?

This question goes for people that have experience with paint, acrylic paint to be more specific, if I'm not mistaken the waterproof kind of acrylic paint is the good quality type, I know it's good for leather, canvas, fabrics, wood and even plastics but I want to know specifically for polymer which is normally a better quality kind of plastic which kinda has a rougher surface than other plastics and I'm sure it can be stubborn for paint to stick if I were to assume and pull an assumption out my ass lol

Yes. Polymer Clay and Acrylic paint work good together.

And Acrylic Paint sticks to Plastic in general.

Only thing it doesn't work long time, is on thin flexible sheets of plastik. The paint gets brittle and will flake of, and as the plastic flexes its sped up significantly.

You have to get paint that is made for using on plastic. Since plastic is an oil based product it's hard to get paint to stick to it for long, especially if it's exposed to sunlight regularly. I'd say if you want to paint plastic, find out what kind of paint they use on those flexible plastic car bumpers and use that.

They have paint specifically for that, but it's usually just the usual camo colors. Not sure what kind of paint it is, but if you're painting the barrel it's going to have to be heat resistant paint. Automotive engine paint is heat and oil resistant.

The only problem with engine paint is that it's usually Chevy orange or Ford blue haha

Rustoleum plastic paint is pretty good but like others say it's important to prep the surface first. When it's dry give it 3 thin coats of bondaseal clear for protection.
