So, the question... Do you leave the cap on or take it off when recycling the plastic bottle? Or maybe you don't recycle at all.

Squeeze the air out of the empty bottle, screw the cap back on and put it into the bin.
During the recycling process the bottles are ground into flakes before being washed. The washed cap material, which is a resin, is separated from the bottle material during a water bath by a simple sink/float process: the resin from the caps will sink, while the plastic flakes will float. Both materials can be recycled into new items.

It pretty much all gets recycled here, bottle caps included.

They've actually started recycling even large, rigid items, like garden furniture and toys.
I take satisfaction from scrunching them, also allows for more in a space. So cap on. (They are allowed where I am)
Cap off. Collect them and give them to a local preschool for arts and crafts

Ww can recycle the caps here, but they need to be separated from the bottle before going into recycling. I just try not to use plastic bottle as much as possible.
I leave the cap on. I recycle a lot of plastic bottles and if you leave the cap off the stuff left in the bottle makes a mess.
I mostly recycle beer cans and wine and liquor bottles once I open I throw away the top because I’m dedicated
I didn't know you had to remove it
My town doesn't have recycling
