Do the new thin walled plastic bottles annoy you?

The new plastic bottles are made with plastic so thin it is like the a plastic bag. Two liter bottles are the worse. You have to use two hands to pour or else the liquid shoots out of the bottle. The soda companies say it is to save the environment. Who do they think we are? stupid moonbats? They do it to save money.

I wish we could go back to glass bottles. Microplastics are an issue in humans. If we had glass bottles like we did in the old days it would cut the amount of microplastics ending up in our brains.
If they could do this in the 60s , we would have the technology the handle the bottles better today.

I don’t remember ever seeing 2-literally glass bottles. You can still get glass. Look for the imports. There are also small batch companies that bottle in glass. They’re quite good, but not as cheap as the big brands with their mass production.
Also, if part of your argument is health concerns, you might consider drinking less soda. It’s quite bad for you. Whether you’re consuming too much refined sugar or the chemical additives that replace it in “diet” soda, you’re not doing your health any favors. Just sayin’.

they did not have 2 liter glass bottles/ The big bottles were a quart/ The small ones was 12c ounces. I used to drink craft beer and the glass bottles were nice.

No idea… haven’t use plastic bottle in years.
we found a natural spring 30 m. from home. We refill our five 5 gallon jugs every 2 weeks … spring water is amazing. Taste fresh and crisp.
I don’t drink other stuff aside from tea. I use my 24 oz ceramic mug and drink in the car before I get to work.
I didn’t grow up using plastic bags or plastic stuff … so naturally… plastic is foreign to me..

a lot of clothes are made with recycled plastic nowadays. Bedsheets… everything… if I can avoid.. I will pay more to get the natural stuff.

I noticed the thin plastic on a certain brand of water bottles. I didn’t realize beverage companies are collectively switching to the flimsy stuff. I was embarrassed by all the crinkling noise it makes when I try to take a sip of water.

I do hate it. It always ends up, squeezing in I tried to drink it with one hand and slippery because it’s cold and then it just pushes in the 2 L bottle I spill it sometimes because it’s so weak. If it’s the old style hard bottle that wouldn’t be a problem

When I want drink a fizzy drink I want it saturated with carbon dioxide. In optimal case 1 liter of water can contain 19 liters of carbon dioxide at 1 bar over pressure. However those thin walled PET plastic bottles can't handle any over pressure and there is barely carbon dioxide dissolved in fluid inside.
I don't drink much soda. I buy soda for alcoholic drinks but always in cans or small glass bottles.

No, you don't empty other bottles into it. (although, I guess you could). You just fill it with drinking water from your home brita filter or a water fountain or whatever. You'll save a lot of money. Even if you're only refilling it from one of those 5 gallon bottles. It's what I did in college.

I had this big 48oz reusable bottle with a splash guard to avoid dumping water all over myself and we had these refilling stations and water fountains around campus. I see them a fair amount in towns, so it's not just a college thing. I would refill my bottle 2 or 3 times per day as I walked around to my classes or studied at the library. The water tasted great and the refills are free. You figure how much bottled water costs; 2 or 3 48oz bottles per day can add up.

Plus, the stations keep count of the number of plastic bottles saved by ounces of water, so my inner tree hugger felt good about that lol

If you do get a reusable bottle, make sure it's made out of number 4, 5, OR 7 BPA-free plastic. Those plastics don't get into your water as much.

Get a Nalgene or any high quality reusable steinless steel water bottles.
Most are not dish wash safe… so get one does wash in the machine.
Avoid plastic at all costs.
