How do you feel about cheap bottles of pop?

I'm not consuming anymore , but when I was buying sugar free ( still has some really bad stuff in it ) , I would always just buy brand X , basically because if you break the product down its exactly the same , so the Tesco example , these go out to tender but from memory the product is manufactured by one of the two majors , so particularly with this is mind , imagine what the Tesco contract is worth? At keeps the machines flowing ( pardon the pun ) to fit the production schedule.
Give you an example , when I worked for Bic , at the time all the pens were still manufactured in Australia , we tendered for the then K-Mart contact ( home brand ) and were successful , we had a product meeting where the topic was brought up " How can we make the product a little worse " , yep correct worse ! It was EXACTLY the same product , so the only thing we could come up with , was to set the ink flow production part at 70 % , now think about that , how many pens do you use where you actually get to the end of the Ink? And it still had more ink than a Stadler which was 50% our ink.
So , people who say things like " You get what you pay for " , you just don't , you are fully simply a victim of the brand , or a certain taste addiction , the actual product is same , Why do you think Aldi does so well?
Great docco on Coke a Cola , on you tube , and the history of Cola , well worth a watch , things are never as they seem.
By the way , I've gone to " Soda water " , far fewer nasties , and here there is no brand X , just two brand times , Thai for the most part are rarely offered brand X , controlled by the big players , No Aldi.
Barr is great and mostly thanks to it's range.
Cheap pop for sure tastes different though and some are awful. Cheap Asda coke is alright the sugar one at least or cherry that's 70p now? Was 60p.
The 20p Coke they had now that was just a thing you never want to touch in your life water tastes better in everyway so what even is the point, not even a nice mixer.
It just varies of how it's made middle range is often good. But lowest are typically always dreadful. And highest well Dr Pepper is the best so yeah and I really wish we had Red Thunder over here it's the cheap brand of Dr Pepper in US and it's great.
I don’t drink soda but my colleague swears she can take the difference between regular coke and the generic no name brands. I think the closest I can get to that is saying I can taste different kombucha brands. Synergy being the greatest and Tonika in the lower grade.
I'm fine with them. Most cheap ones I see are glass but it's ok. As for store brand as long as it tastes close to the original, I'm sure most won't care.
Ah, the eternal debate over pop – to splurge or not to splurge, that is the question! Here is the deal, fellow flavor hunter: I'm all about finding that sweet spot between quality and cost. You hit the nail on the head. At its core, pop is basically flavored fizzy water, right? Whether you're sipping on a high-end brand or a supermarket special, the end game is that refreshing, bubbly kick. My adventures through the world of food and drink have taught me that sometimes, the joy doesn't come from the price tag but from the taste itself and the experience.
Of course, there's the occasion where the brand might matter, think parties or special events where you want to impress. But for the day-to-day, if your tastebuds are dancing and your wallet isn't weeping, then you've found your match. Dive into those supermarket brands without a second thought. Who knows? You might just discover an underdog that becomes your go-to. 🥤💸

I only drink water and black tea. Occasionally other teas. Coke icees had their clutches in me as a teen and I swore it wouldn't happen again. Now I'll take a swig of a carbonated ginger drink for an upset stomach and find it disgustingly sweet. So I'll pass on both leading and generic sweet fizzy drinks.
I prefer coke over an obscure pop. Coke might be bad but at least I know what’s inside it. But if it is a mom and pop shop, I might choose the alternative pop. I have faith in small scale eateries.
don't touch any of it. I think the original coke with coca leaf be good. U like off brands back when I tried it esp root beer, sassafrass, etc.. stuff with real weeds in it ya know? I'd rather not give so much $ to big companies. be cool to see micro brewing for soda like they have for beers.
I mean, they get the job done I guess lol. Some of them are pretty decent. But I prefer water and juice over soft drinks these days anyway.
Coca-Cola Original is about the only one that is still full sugar, all the others including Pepsi 'regular' now contain Acesulfame K, Sucralose or any of the other artificial sweeteners, which to my taste buds taste foul in the extreme and lingers for hours, tainting anything else I eat.
I don't drink any soda. I would look at the ingredients and even just comparing the length of the list would be an indicator how bad it is for you.
Seltzer with lime or lemon juice and a garnish is just as good in my opinion and obviously much healthier
Depends
cola sure if I'm only pouring black label into it but Hennessy or good Islay malt needs Coca-Cola
Some aren’t too bad most are garbage. It’s a desperation act when sodas are $4.00 dollars for one 2 L and then you want to buy the one dollar soda or $.69 soda.
I grew up on store brand soda (pop). My SO is a bit pickier, and only buys name brands.
I love 365 cola from Whole Foods Market. The ingredients are simple to understand and it tasted way better than Coke.
Ingredients: carbonated water, caramel color, rebaudiana a (stevia leaf extract), tartaric acid, citric acid, natural flavor, caffeine.
I rry to steer away from them. They usually taste like crap.
I like the Kroger's knock off of Dr. Pepper zero
I don't drink pop unless it's an extremely rare occasion where it's the only thing to drink or I want to mix with my booze, so I don't really have an opinion on this.
It's diabetes in a can. I only drink diet so I'm aiming for cancer!
hell to the no
I never wanna drink these.
It's poison. Check the additives
don't care about them
some are good
